What is this?  Anything I can do about it?

It is absolutely UNTRUE that AT&T will stop these harassing messages.
I've been trying for two years. I've talked with every supervisor/manager in AT&T during probably 25 distinct phone calls. First they would tell me they changed some setting and I wouldn't receive the monthly "your bill is ready to pay" notice. But next like clock work it came.

Finally the last 4 times I've called and spending 40 minutes on the phone being escalated to higher management, they have finally told me that they refuse to stop it unless I cancel service. And that because I'm not at the end of my 2 year agreement, if I cancel service I'll owe over $100 for the privilege.

AT&T sucks!! I'll cancel as soon as my contract runs out. This is unconscionable! They harass you every month.

This is an auto-payment notification from AT&T. Just verified this through my work phone.

This is creepy. I got 11 msgs like this since last week. They're all different, but the same number. I'm not sure what's going on. sending all these crap msgs at midnight or early in the morning: All ya Morons for sending these freaky n creepy msgs. Btw everytime I received the msgs, the subject is unknown ???

Yeah its just ATT confirming an online payment. The sender on my text was 753-5 and the acct number that is on there is your ATT acct number.

i just received a text message too and the last thing i paid for was a plane ticket on orbitz.com....very interesting.....

Received a text from this number, first time ever. Saying my credit card was charged $410.79 for acct XYZ..whatever it was. I never made any payment, no clue what this is??

At 2:10 A.M. today cell phone rang and woke us up.  We ignored it and it rang again.  How annoying is that?  Turned the cell phone off to stop the noise.  Why would ATT if it is them ring anyone's cell phone at such a time of day?  Glad we never opened the message feature.  Anyone who knows us would ring home phone first before trying cell so don't see a need for it.  Without message feature we can still see list of unanswered calls & can call back if we want.

I got 2 text messages from AT&T saying "i can check order status online at att.com/orderstatus."
then my husband gets a call minutes later on HIS cell phone and the AT&T rep is asking for me (Nancy), he says she is not here (DER!!!! he's on the truck!!) and the lady immediately hangs up.

My phone is under my sons name and account, i am not on it, so i called my son and warned him to check his billing with a fine tooth comb the next few months.

Got a similar TEXT yesterday. Credit Payment Confirmation #QPCMAT89791xxxxx for $240 paid on 08/22/12 posted to account xxxxxxxxx.

This is a company AT&T account and I check my credit cards and do not see this amount posted.

From what I have read here, it is either phishing scam or some AT&T nonsense.

Received a text:

Free AT&T message: Your address was changed for acct#. If this was done in error, call 800-331-0500 or 611 from your wireless phone.

My address was NOT changed and that 800 number is known for pretending to be AT&T and trying to get personal info. Do not respond.

My wife got one of these this a.m. from that same # 753-5.  The message indeed referenced her ATT wireless account # and the balance being paid is indeed to the penny when I look up the bill online.  I guess others could "fake" the cryptic partial text # as the sender.  Would sure be nice if they said something in the text that this coming from AT&T.  Sort of freaked her out until I Googled 753-5

I got one from this number today saying I was subject to a credit evaluation and there would be a bill I would have to pay. It is interesting because I just requested a credit report from CreditKarma.com

Thanks for this link. I just filed my complaint. I have already told AT&T 3 or 4 times to stop texting me.

Block phone calls from 1 631 276 51561

It said that I was eligible for an upgrade with a team discount (I should have an upgrade in 9 months. I just went to the ATT store today to get my old phone a new sim card, and the guy was sympathetic that I misread an upgrade date, but I don't know if he could do this. Also, the message was in Spanish, but I was recently in Spain (while there ATT texted me in English). Should I be concerned?

If you're in the US, I don't know that I'd trust that number, it appears spoofed. Might be best to avoid that, spoofed numbers mean trouble. If it were believable, I'd think the number would appear it, too. If you're in question, contact AT&T at a number you find yourself at your convenience.
