Reporting to the FCC is actually useful as the DNC list only regulates legitimate telemarketers, not these scam calls. Additionally, if the caller is offerring some sort of business or service the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) is interested and the call should be reported to them, as well. FTC has its own web form for reporting. Depending on the call, I report these illegitimate calls to the FCC, FTC, or both. I always also report to the DNC on the outside chance it was from a genuine telemarketer.

I picked up the phone this time as this number had never called before but no one was on the line.

Last night at 8.54pm received call from 1-201-845-6009. A man (name I forget) but heavily accented (perhaps African origin) called about extending my Honda warranty. He had all the information about the car, year and model, information about recalled parts. I told him I was not interested. He proceeded to give me the cost/benefits for 3 year renewal. I suspected a scam and I told him no deal and he disconnected rather abruptly. I called the number today: "we're sorry, your call cannot be completed at this time....please hang up and try your call later". This is a haunting experience!

Caller hung up when I pressed him to tell me who he was calling on behalf of.  Very broken English.   I am on no caller list

Ed are you there.  Then the man says no one is answering.  Then they hung up.

I received a cal from this number at 10:58 a.m. I let it go to voice mail and a man said "Have a great day" making his voice sound like my young son's on the answering machine. When I played the message, there was nothing there. This phone number was on caller ID as well as a long number that started with a V...... I'm not noting it here because it is almost exactly the number I have on an old Visa card.

Received call today for husband, said not home, they hung up, was also from Rochelle Par from NJ, same number 201-845-6009. I'll not answer if calls back or if they do, I'll be rude.

What are they trying to sell, warranty for cars? Please post and let me know.

Got a call from this number asking if joe was here. When I asked who was calling they said Keith Stalker! Do not accept calls from these freaks!

When the answering machine went on, this caller asked for me by name. Pretty scary. Interestingly we just cancelled a Visa card number, which I note because of Elizabeth's comment about her Visa number.

Scammers selling extended auto warranties.  I informed them I was on the Do Not Call list and not to call back, but I have little hope that will happen.  These scammers just use phone number spoofing to appear to call from various places to avoid any way of blocking their calls.  The federal Do Not Call list is a joke.  These scammers should get life sentences if not be hanged as entertainment at the Super Bowl half time.

Saturday morning, received 2 calls from 201-845-6009 with no one on the other end.  This is happening regularly!

What good it is to register for DO NOT CALL LIST when constantly get these calls? Please do something about this and make them stop calling.

Even though this caller was very careful to "mute" his transmitter when he wasn't speaking, I could hear the "boiler room" in the background. He knew my name. And as soon as I challenged him about the nature of his call, he hung up.
