2701 is the new number they are using. They just tried to get me

I received a call the other day from the phone number 202 470 0741 telling me I have been chosen for an $8400 grant from the Government and the grant was given out every year. I asked him so many questions about the grant; what it was called, and why/how I was chosen for it. His answers became inconsistent, his breathing became irregular, his voice stammered, and he became very impatient with me. It was painfully obvious that it was a scam. I may be young, but I'm not stupid!

I got a call from this number by a woman with a very thik accent saying a got a grant... Then went on to explain why which I couldn't understand. I've been getting these kind of calls about loans and stuff for almost a month and they won't stop. It's different numbers and I know numbers. I've reported what I can and my phone company doesn't care. The first day it happened I had near 80 phone calls. It's stressful. These people need to be stopped!!! Scum at its finest!!!! I know better than to give my info out though!

My brother just got scammed by these jerks they called this morning telling him the gov  is going to give him $8k but he first has to send them $240.00 via Western Union, the guy's name is George Williams with an Indian Accent LOL , from 202-370-7640 he gave them his EDD debit card information ,I called the # back and the Indian guy got angry and hung up on me.  good thing there is 0 balance in his EDD debit card.........

He needs to contact the EDD then and get a new one and close this one asap!

I got a call from 202-666-4736 (mans voice sounded Asian) saying I was eligible for a $8,4000 grant due to paying my bills on time and not being bankrupt for 6+ months. He said that he needed either a card number or account number so he could put the money through direct deposit. I asked if they could send the cash through the mail in the check, but he claimed that money was being lost that way. After I stupidly gave him my debit card number he told me to call KEVIN WOODS at 202-407-7246 (voice sounded Asian as well) to give him the confirmation #. After the call was over,  that's when I got online to check this gov. Grant offer for $8,400 and found it was as scam and imidiatly canceled my debit card. I SUGEST YOU DO THE SAME IF YOU FELL FOR THIS DUMB A** SCAM!

I don't know that the FTC will do anything to stop these [***] but they make me sick the are calling me every other day. 10/11; 10/15;10/17; 10/19 with the story Congratulations you have been awarded a  $8,400 $11,700  and they call from this number 202 370 7640  or they call from 202-666-4736 and they give you a code like letter ,letter  number number number  i.e PP284 and then  the tell you some ones name the managers of the grant like George Williams and tell you to call 202--436-9942 or 202-6665581  and to tell them which way you want to get the money and whether it's via western union or check or what ever they will try to100-200 dollars from you to get you this grant money " in order to release it" Don't go for it it's  a scam to get your personal information once they have your credit card number and checking account info they will use it at a random date to extract money from your account and if you don't have an eye on it they will rob you blind.
I called the FTC I don't know if they will be able to do much but I hope they get these jerks. I got a case number...

Was told i was to receive a grant from the government for 8,040 that i didn't have to pay back. All I had to do was send 230 dollar processing fee and the money would be deposited in my account. to go and buy and green dot money pack card and call them with the info. I did this and then I was told that I needed to pay 598 security deposit that I also needed to put on a green dot money pack card. All said and done I'm out of 230 dollars for the processing fee, because I don't have another 598.00 for the security deposit and I can't get my money back. Tell phone numbers are 202-666-7359 initial call, Judge Williams takes all of your account information 1-202-370-7640 and Mike Michaels at the Federal Reserve bank is the one who is suppose to deposit the money in your account 646-257-3488.

Called me using a 202 number: 202-370-7640 Posing as a federal reserve banker. Impersonating a gov't official poses a hefty fine, I hear.

I thought it was for the pell grant I filed for.

Just got the same call and # wanted 235.00 gave them my c.c which was maxed out after I read all the reviews called c.c company and reported it why dose this continue can't anyone stop this

I got the call today, 11/19/13.  Exactly the same as yours.  I told them not to call me and this is "scam."

those f***arabs got me for $800 dollars I should have looked this web page up before I got those green dots money packs you know what goes around comes around in the end they are going to get whats coming to them and its not going to be jail time its going to be grave time you can count on it.

Lol they called me today asking for 220 dollars. Its a shame knowing its not real. Thank god I didn't send them the money
