I just received the call today from my work too. When he started talking I was completely lost because of his heavy accent. He got really frustrated because I kept saying "What?" so I asked him some questions about the loan. I asked how much I took out and he said $96. So the next question I asked was when the loan was processed. He replied that it was taken out at the end of June. That immediately got my attention because it's not the end of June yet and seriously...... Why would I take out a loan of $96 with an interest rate of 110%. These people really aren't that smart to pull off this scam.

I just got a call from this number today and he said his name was "Kevin Wilson" which is total BS!! he had an Indian accent and left a voicemail message on my cell number saying that there is a criminal case against me and do not ignore this or " all I have to say is good luck until this unfolds!"  Prior to this, I tried calling the number but it was busy when I tried to block my number so I had to unblock it and an Indian woman answered, sayin " Is this (my name) Oh, im on another call, i'll all you right back"... 2 seconds later, I got a call from that guy with the accent.  I immediately notifed the police department and they told me to ignore the calls, it is a fraud.  I hope these jerks get locked up and throw away the key!! for making these threatening calls to people! Rochelle (Almost fell for it)
I just got a phone call from them this morning, Granted I have a payday loan out- But they deduct it from my account and I keep track of making sure I have the funds in there so that the deductions aren't delayed or anything. Anyways, I didn't pick up the call right away, instead my answer machine picked up- But when I heard the lines" This is________ from Samelsun Law Firm regarding an important matter for...." I picked up the phone right away and that's where I got the whole shabang on that a payday company was suing me for Fraud and a failure to pay out a loan. That if I didn't pay the amount due of 862.31 I would lose my job, go to jail for a year and then have an outstanding bill of $1600.00 for failure to pay, etc. The guy even had the last four digits of my social security, an e-mail address, etc. I was put on hold several times as I asked away with questions and given new people to speak to. The final person I spoke to told me that she was the O.O.C.R (Out of Court Restitution) woman, and that she was going to convince the attorney's going after me to let me pay. She even did the "Good luck" bit, and said that in order to pay, I had to find a Walmart store, or a Kmart/Radioshack and get a green dot money pak. Most importantly she said that I needed to get the paper scratch voucher and not the card, because the card apparently doesn't take the money out the same... etc. She said that once I did this, I should call her backat 202-461-3238 ext. 225 at around 3pm today and scratch off the back and give her the number.

I was getting ready to do all of this, but something told me to check my e-mail to make sure that this was correct. Since they said that I was contacted first through my e-mail. When I checked there was nothing from American Cash, nor were there any messages regarding any loan payments that were not paid. In fact, I believe that if you were to default on a loan payment, they contact you both through e-mail as well as cellular or home phone device. Once I was done checking through my e-mail I made sure to google the number they gave me, and that's where I found this site. Seems I'm not the only person they've called, and some of you don't even have any payday loans out. Seems to me, that they're trying to scam people (scared) to get us to give them money. Don't fall for it. I almost did- but now I know better. Not to mention- if you were in trouble in any way, something would get mailed to you, there would need to be legal documentation to make sure that you understand the situation and the severity of it.

I am going to report the number and see what happens. Or just completely ignore it. Just don't let it make you panic and end up giving them money. Don't fall for it.

I got a call from the same company. I called them back three times and told them I will call the Sheriff's office if they ever called me again. I told them I know this isn't a legitimate claim and I ever heard from him or anyone from him in any way he will hear from an investigator. Call him back and treat him in the same manner he treated you in the message and I guarantee you will never hear from him again!

    Looking out for you
My call said that I have a law suit against me and it's very serious. He called me at my job and wanted me to talk to him rght then, I refused.
This guy is from out of the country. It's a total scam. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO HIM. The FBI is aware but can't do anything because he's out of country. Wal-Mart DOES have a green dot card, it's like a pre-paid Visa.

I love they have these poor people probably working for $.50 per hour calling Americans to threaten us, yet they cannot speak English well enough to get the full sentence out without stuttering or having to stop and say the words again. What really cracks me up is that regardless of what they say, there is no officer of any criminal division in the US that would call you to threaten you. They call the local authorities come to get us in person. They don't freaken call you to ask if your around or ask you to give them a credit card number over the phone dudes. wise up to the American laws and get your freaken stories straight.

As for the pay day loans, if anyone ever needs a really reputable company that does not charge you an arm and a leg, and only loans you what you can pay back in 1 pay period, try 247greenstreet.com. Outstanding customer service, affordable in a pinch, and they do not mess around with you. I recently had a loan with them and they took the payment, but a check I deposited from part time job bounced, so obviously one of the payments bounced to. I called them up to apologize and they didnt even charge me any additional fees because I am a good standing customer.

Another good company is Eastside lenders. Again very affordable and reasonable. Good customer service with people that are professional and speak English!
