A Scott Brown "push" poll for the upcoming special election for senate.  A innocuous question about who I favor in the election, and then a bevy of nasty questions about why liberals aren't good people.

Voicemail: "This is a public issue survey call.  We may call back later."

Sounds like it's a political poll of some kind.

Its the scumbags from the National Organization for Marriage. They just tried a robocall on me for Scott Brown from that number. Now I'm definitely voting for Martha Coakley!

A poll call that first sought details on my intention to vote in the MA special election tomorrow; following my indication of preferred candidate, asked yes or no questions about my support for gay marriage, offering Arabs the "humane option" of being resettling out of Israel into welcoming Muslim nations, and whether Africa or Israel deserves more money from the US; the poll also asked whether I believed a Syracuse study demonstrating that Democrats made more income than Republicans but were more stingy in making donations.  Sheesh!

I didn't get to the phone in time but I dialed *69 to see who it was and that is the number that came up.  I tried calling it many times and it was always busy.  Now I know why.  There must be a law against this and if there isn't, there should be.

I also received a call from a group calling themselves "Strategic Research Associates."  Their script included (the following in paraphrase):

    1. Was I going to vote in the special MA election.
    2. In a match up of Coakley vs. Brown, who would I vote for.  After choosing Coakley, I got:
    3. Do I support legalization of gay marriage nationwide.
    4. A Syracuse University study showed that Liberals make more money than conservatives, yet give less to charity.  Do you think this is plausible?
    5. Over 50 years ago, we said "never again" to the killing of Jews.  Today, 6 million citizens of Israel live under constant fear of extermination.  At the same time, over 1 million Africans live under the threat of malaria.  Do you feel more sympathy toward Africans or Israelis?
    6. Do you think the UN should do more with its' millions of $$ to fight malaria?
    7. Would you be willing to call the UN to demand immediate action?

I could not believe the type of phone call I just received from this phone number.  This is a group that supports Scott Brown, and has his backing. I wouldn't vote for him now if my life depended on it!  As a MA resident, I was undecided on this senate vote; but Coakley has my support from now on.   I used to be a Republican, but switched to Independent because of these types of repulsive tactics the GOP has sunken to.  The Republican party used to stand for something we could be proud of --this isn't it!
