I called and got a recording for American Institute for Cancer Research.  I pressed 1 for more information and then 3 to no longer receive their calls.  I entered my number, it repeated it back and said Federal Law allows 30 days to remove the number from their list, but that they will try to remove it within the next several days.  All of this was a recording.  It's worth a shot to listen to the message when you call to see if you can speak with someone or be removed from the list.

Received two calls this week - they hung up when I picked up!

202-495-7181 - has called both yesterday and today.  I let the answering machine pick it up, but of course, they don't leave a message.  Checked the company out at http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.comments&orgid=3264  Typical solicitation call.

I donated to the local Cancer Soc. in memory of a sister-in-law. I told them it was a once and done donation and I did not want to be bothered any more. I keep getting calls and either hang up on them or just push the answer button and hang up right away. From now on I will just let it ring as another party suggested.

Recieved a call with no one at the other end. Hate telemarkters!

Called at 10 AM today

Continuous calls from this number - I am on a "Do Not Call" register and still get these annoying calls.  Have reported to the FCC.

I get those calls all the time but I don't answer it, I let my answer machine pick up and of course they don't leave a message.  I'm on DO NOT CALL list and I thought it's supposed stop them from calling us.  I guess not.  What is a point to be on the list if they don't enforce it.  This is very annoying of getting calls that I don't recognize the number.  There must be a way to stop them from calling us once and for all.

Phone rings 2, 3 times. Won't even go to answering machine. I don't pick up unknown callers

This number has called our home numerous times and we would like them to stop immediately.  Phoenix family

They call repeatedly to our house.  One time, they called unacceptably early in the morning.

Calls come from this number too frequently including Sundays.  I do not answer. The calls come on my fax telephone as well as my house telephone.

When I came home tonight, which is Sunday, this same number and name 202-495-7181 (AICR)was on my caller ID.  First I Googled the phone number and that's where I found this site. Then I Googled the name American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR).  There were several sites that talked about them.  Below is a website that researched then did a report on AICR.  Should help answer some questions.

Still don't know if I would trust them though.  When I give to charities it is because I pick them, I don't like them picking me.

Have received calls from AICR {American Institute for Cancer Research} for the past couple months.  Tonight I got one from "Unknown" {same old 1-202 495-7181 number}. Don't know if they think this will make me more apt to pick up, but this only makes it more likely I will never answer.  If I don't recognize the number or name I take the position, "If it's someone important, they'll leave a message".  I always check a few moments later and 99% of the time they do not!

Called just a bit ago.  They hung up on the third ring.  Don't believe we have ever rec'd a call from that number before.  I see from other posts that it might be from an "organization" called American Institute for Cancer Research.  You can check this group out for yourself at http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=3264 and see that they appear to be questionable to say the least.
