I just got a call from that 202 # speaking Spanish I'm from Oklahoma city.why is a Washington DC area code calling

My "pre-paid" emergency cell phone was ringing today! The number was 202-827-9981 it was at 12:22p.m.CST on 12/22/2011.  Kinda weird since no one has this phone number.  Maybe T-Mobile is selling phone numbers, or they are just Phising and auto dialing. I didn't answer it and it said "missed call" so it didn't go to my voicemail. I'm not waisting my pre-paid credit to listen to scammers! Have a Blessed Day! :)

received call on my son's cell phone from 202-827-9981. When you call back, it is listed as a non working number. This must be a scam...

I just got a call from this number. I didn't pick up because I didn't recognize it and they did not leave a message. I'm in CA.

same thing tried to call it back and it says its disconnected

Just received a call from 202-827-9981 on my T-Mobile cell phone.  Did not answer and when I tried to
call back, the number was non-existent.  This number needs to be investigated!!!!!  I'm in Arizona.......

I get this call from time to time.  I've never been able to answer it and when I call back, a message says it's disconnected.

Didnt know number and didnt answer it. No VM left. I am totally sure its a SCAM

Thank you for letting other people know about this.  This is the second time I got a call from this number.  Good thing I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.  I reckon, if they really want to talk to me, they'd leave a message.

I Answered my phone and A Hispanic woman began speaking (An Automated message) and i get those calls frequently, When I have no clue what they are for!!!I Live in Texas and it's insane!!!

I got a call from the same # Brittany... I am happy I did not pick it up!

I got a call just now and I answered it, that's right I answered it. I had a conversation
with a Peggy who thought it seemed stranged was a man with a very bad english accent he really
sounded Russian, the conversation went like this.
Me: Hello
Peggy: Hello this is Peggy
Me: Did you say Peggy.
Peggy: Yes this is Peggy
Me: ok?
Peggy: Thank you for calling Prime credit.
Me: you called me.
Peggy: uh uh thank you for calling prome credit.
Me: Hung up.

So, I had a missed call from this same # too. I called back and got a disconnected tone as well. I googled the # to see if it was from a specific company but after reading this blog, I must say that it might belong to an app. There are several apps from i-phones that allow you to call plp from an anonymous #. :/

Got a call from this number this morning...didnt answer..... Im on TMobile.  Something also to be aware of, is many scammers will call a number, to see if it is tied to your account to hack into it.  if they get the long buzz, then they know its a fax line and remove it from their call list.  if someone answers, its potential.  note to all.....REMOVE your name off your voicemail greeting.  its another way to connect the dots to you.

202-827-9981 son ratero por telefono con migo se isieron pasar por la compania sprint, diciendo que gane um premio y querian mi nemero de tarjeta de credito segun ellos para poder teclamar mi premio pero esto es puro fraude.

Translation:
They are over the phone thieves, with me they tried to pass off as Sprint Corp. They said that I had won a prize and that they needed my credit card number to be able to claim the prize but it is all a fraud.

They just called and I missed it, now that I know they speak Spanish I wanted to be able to cuss them out but I didn't get to answer in time. This is the second time they call me and it is getting annoying. I'm on the DNC list and I've reported them but I guess I will have to wait a month and see if they stop.
