If I happen to answer a call and it's a live person I start out by asking them if they want my social security number first or my credit card number. If this doesn't stop them then I ask if they would like to buy a dozen eggs. That's usually disconnect time.   lol

Another robo-call from "Carmen from cardholder services" wanting to discuss my non-existent credit card debt.  I don't know whey the government wasted their time - and OUR money - on the Do Not Call crap.

These numbers will be added  the list of: 217-530-0750, 309-530-0754, 217-530-0751, 331-530-0757, 618-530-0752, 331-530-0752, 872-530-0752, 224-530-0752, 224-530-0752, 312-530-0752, 309-530-0752, 217-530-0752, 464-530-0752, 312-530-0753, 224-530-0754, 217-530-0749, 217-530-0754, 217-530-0755, 708-530-0751. Doesn’t include those from MD, CA, AL, TX, MI, & OR.

just called. Left partial robo msg on my vmx about last chance to lower my interest on blah blah. Deleted msg. Put caller on reject list.

4/1/16 1135 & 1309. did not answer, no message.

I got a call from this number directly before receiving a call from (516) 243-7364. My home phone transfers to my cell, and my cell phone has an APP that blocks everyone not in my directory. And so both calls were blocked. I'm sure the numbers are the caller ID are not real numbers.

Picked it up, heard a robotic message claiming to be from the Treasury Department and in order to avoid prosecution for tax fraud to call them immediately. I just hung up

The government can not block phone calls. Think about it.
Like you say, the phone companies are making money off them and would have to spend money to block them. It's up to customers to tell them to DO it.
