At that point I asked if it was scam AT LEAST five times, and every time they denied.
Is this a way of them trying to access your credit card account to get your money?

I was finally able to get in contact with someone
at Bell Canada (Customer Service) and they told
me that they would place my phone number on
their "do not call list".

Got a call from this 204-480-9170 and they are telling me that my spouse has been talking with them about a family matter where a family died and he is the only person that is able to recieve any money from that and they were from Maliasha... how dumb do they take us for...  it gets annoying that people would go to such great distances to bother other people

So they immediately call back, and I let it go to voicemail. They did not leave a message.

In our experience, every call from the 204-480-xxxx exchange is spam.

I had my cell phone with me while I was in Florida on vacation.  A few days after arriving, I was scrolling through my recent calls and came upon this number 204-480-9170. It showed that they had called me on December 17 at 8:14 p.m. with a call duration of 7 minutes and 51 seconds.  I was completely confused as I KNOW I DID NOT ANSWER THIS CALL. That was my first day in Florida and I know exactly where I was and what I was doing during the time of this alleged call.  I know I wasn't talking to anybody on my cell phone (can you say roaming charges!!!)
Today I called my service provider (MTS) to dispute the charge and they told me it was a completed call and I had to pay the $10.23 charge.  No amount of arguing would change the CSR's mind.
After I got off the phone with MTS I did some searching online and found this forum.  I did call one of the numbers listed in an earlier post and it was Bell.  They informed me that this phantom number is not associated with the Bell company, they are the service provider for this number.  The lady was quite nice and eventually told me that 204-480-9170 is registered to a company called Ontario Inc. Manitoba based out of Winnipeg.  Armed with that information, I called MTS back and told them that I didn't care what there system was showing, I certainly would remember if I spoke with a company by this name, especially while I was on vacation in FLORIDA.  They eventually agreed to credit my account for the $10.23 charge as they told me it wasn't worth arguing over (I disagree).
I tried searching the internet for info on Ontario Inc. Manitoba (or could be MB, I'm not sure) but to no avail.

204 is the normal area code for Manitoba, and 480 is a regular exchange in Winnipeg. Legitimate businesses do use the 480 exchange in Winnipeg. Shaw for instance, uses several 204-480-XXXX numbers.

Calls from most VOIP service can route from this #, Whenever i call out from skype it shows as this #. Just thought Id let everyone know

i think youd sound a whole lot better with a shotgun in your mouth buddy.  this number should be shut down, it sounds like its nothing but trouble.

Reading all the above info here, I'm amazed Bell is still allowing this scam to run through their system.

Called cell today while at work.  Cell was on silence, so I didn't notice until after the fact.  No voicemail.  Googled the number and THIS comes up.  Hopefully they leave me alone. Hmph!
