i got a call that said press 1 to claim your prize then i hung up

They called my cell phone in winnipeg and new my name. then a young man proceded to cuss me out for talking sh*t to his boyfirend at a club last week. ??? when he began to use an a punjabi accent (my family is from punjab) someone on his end of the line made him hang up the phone. there was laughing in the background.

You won a vacation!! Blergh.

I just called the number you posted for the telecom services and was able to call these ***holes. They are always calling and hanging up.  Hopefully this will stop it.  Thanks for the posted info - it was quite helpful

I just received this call at the office this morning. I googled the telephone number (480-9170) and found this forum. The man said that he wanted to speak with "the person who is responsible for employee safety". I laughed and said that I'd like to know that as well! Who would be calling a business on Victoria Day?

Just got a call saying congratulations but I hung up. Who would be working on victoria day. They don't even do their homework!

I starting getting scam calls a couple of days after I downloaded a new ring tone from the Rogers website several months ago. The scammers must be tracking numbers that visit websites.

I got a call from this number, it showed up on my caller ID, but when I answered, they hung up.

Yeah i got a call last night and the guy said he was calling from the company that made the credit cards for banks and that they were trying to offer me and others who owed lots on their credit cards a lower interest rate, when he asked me what my rate was i said zero as i don't use credit cards and he nervously laughed and thanked me for my time. i pressed him for info on who gave him my number and why and where he was calling from and he said RDR Programs and that my bank gave him the info when i pressed for more info he hung up on me.

Just got a call from this number claiming to be from Canada Post until I said "Oh no you're not - my call display doesn't show that" at which time the rude b***h proceeded to tell me she only claimed to represent Canada Post.  Maybe Canada Post would like to correct her in the future.  I told her since she was so rude - she didn't want to chance calling back.

Got a call from this number today. Answered it and no one was there but the silence and then a click and ringing I associate with being connected off an auto dialer. What kind of scum make solicitation calls on Remembrance day!!!

5:04 pm, Feb. 18, 2010, Assuming it is a telemarketer. After a short delay, she said her name was Rachel.  I hung up.   My number is on the Do Not Call Registry.  Did not show an area code before number.

This number 204-480-9170 called and hung up.

Thanks for the information. I will be calling amd complaining. It is extremely annoying, to say the least.
