I have also been getting these calls.  For 2 weeks, 1-3 times a day.  No one answers when I pick up and no one leaves a VM.  I called the number back, and got a VM so I have left 3 VM's requesting they quit calling, but they haven't.  i have now sent an e-mail to Robert Lake
    Vice President/Group Publisher

205-248-1235  if the calls don't stop, I will be calling every person there, until something changes, and if it doesn't, I will be filing a complaint.

I was made aware of this thread this morning by Amanda and would like the opportunity to explain the calls you have received.  We publish trade magazines for Trucking, Construction, Landscaping, etc.  Every year we have to call our subscribers to ensure that the information we have is accurate and that their industry and job title qualifies to receive the free magazine.

There is no ill intent with these calls.  I hate that there have been instances where people have been hung up on or where there was no one on the line.  We do everything we can to limit those types of issues.

We comply with all Federal regulations in regards to telemarketing.  Our calls are to businesses only, at least that is our intent, as we do not actively make consumer calls.

If you do not wish to be called please leave your name and number on 205-248-1717 and we will be happy to remove your name from our list.  You can also tell the agent that calls you to place you on our Do Not Call list and we will remove you from all future call efforts.

Thank you and please accept our apologies.

Randall-Reilly publishes magazines, mainly in the trucking and construction industries.  These magazines are free to subscribers, however, in order to be a subscriber you must be qualified to receive the magazine.  This is required by the company's circulation auditor, so that when an advertiser is told that a magazine has a circulation of 50,000, for example, they can be sure that those 50,000 people are a legitimate audience for their ads.  Phone and address information goes stale, and the magazine subscribers must be re-qualified every year.  So even though you may not be interested in a particular magazine (or qualified to receive it) someone with your number at some time subscribed, or attended a trade show, or did business with one of the advertisers, etc.  The best thing to do when you receive a telemarketing call from this number and do not wish to receive a magazine is ask to be removed from the list.

    Isabella,

We do not make those types of phone calls.  Most likely that is another marketer calling you around the same time we are.  We only call about trade shows and magazines.

Shows up as Randall Publishing on the caller ID. I get about one call a day from these guys...they never leave a message. Today I decided to answer...They knew the name of someone in our company, and asked to speak with him about free passes to a truck show. Of course, when I said he wasn't available, he asked if I could accept them instead. I said no and hung up, but I'm sure they'll call back tomorrow...

Some guy from this number just called my "boyfriend" on his cell phone asking for me by my last name only.  My boyfriend lives 300 miles away!  How did they know to call him and ask for me?  We have never signed up for anything together.  We have only been dating for 4 months. Now isn't that odd!!!!

Better yet, have your phone on the do not call list and report them when they call you, it is a $11K fine.  They will stop calling.

Actually they are a publishing company.  They publish a number of trade magazines, mostly related to the trucking industry and common carrier operations.
