- SuzanneI believe this calling claiming to be an automated "Sharon my local Google specialist" is nothing more than a scam to either get me to switch phone service or charge the phone number for a non-existent service. What I want to know is how long will it take for the authorities to actually track these spoofers and either send them packing out of our country or give them a nice long one way ticket to jail?
- JinOHJust another in a long list of telemarketing robots. Idiots.

- BigA replies to jetamesIt is against the TOS to post advertisements for any particular item. Since I have no idea what your comment was about I can't say that it is like that simply because of what you posted. There are other reasons for that to show up, such as an IP from someone who posts too many times in a short span, or from an IP that is a known spammer. So please check out your facts before you condemn someone or something. The administrators have been very busy the last few days and probably have not gotten around to your post as of yet to look at it and make a decision.

- MichiganderHave had many of these calls. This time the caller id name was the same as the phone number. Robo gal came on and said they can put us on the front page of Google ads.
No telling who they are. I have called this number numerous times and gone through the press 2 to be removed. They're still calling- Caller: ??206-445-6301

Scam don't press any buttons and simply hang up to these losers. - AdamI let all numbers like this go to the answering machine. I advised my staff to do the same. If this was an actual legitimate call, they can leave a message. Since they hang up when the answering machine answers the call, I don't to waste my time answering these a******s when they call.

- Chicago EdRang wireline. Call blocked. No name, just the phone number repeated twice. I have kept a log of all the spam/spoofed number calls since May, 2012. This was call 415. I use a call blocker. It only holds 80 blocked calls. To overcome this, 1) I block area code plus exchange (not who area codes), 2) and once in a while I clear out the memory and start over. This has served well enough. Allowing the obviously spoofed calls (caller id) to go to voice mail is also a great triage. No message, number gets blocked. My small business survives with less annoyance while using these methods. I have not spoken to one of these callers in almost two years. Call blocking and voice mail triage make for a simple tactic to support my strategy of ignoring these jerks.

- BostonHollyGood God do I regret signing up with Google. They harass me with robo calls day in and day out, 24/7. Google must believe that it's customers are morons and don't know how to procure services on their own. I have grown to detest Google an am going to remove them from my browsers , favorites list and bookmarks. Their counter-productive marketing strategies (I get more spam than anyone on earth...) are turning current customers away and certainly are not generating new business

- angryGrammaCalled twice before today and nobody there. Today the call got zapped by my FREE call blocker. Bye Bye google faker. I really wish some Congressperson and/or Senator had the balls to put through a bill making JAILTIME mandatory for spoofing a phone number, calling people on the do-not-call list, illegal collection agency calls, etc etc. Let them wear pink panties and pick up trash along desert highways through out the nation. Make them wear a sign saying "I VIOLATED TELEMARKETING LAWS." Too bad we can't brand them on the forehead. Thankx for letting me rant.

- DOH! replies to Oak Leaf StudiosOne caveat: if a consumer asks a company not to call, the company may not call, even if there is an established business relationship. Indeed, a company may not call a consumer - regardless of whether the consumer's number is on the registry - if the consumer has asked to be put on the company's own do not call list.

Check it out - things changed in October of 2013 when you posted that. - ScammerAlert replies to patA couple of things.....
1. This is not actually Google. It is foreigners posing as Google offering you fake Google services. They will take your money and you will never see a return.
2. Neither the government nor anyone else can do anything about this. These scammer DO NOT RESIDE IN THE USA!! They lease numbers from companies that offer VoIP services and use a VoIP interface to place the calls. You can do this from any computer with internet access. There are several companies that offer this service. You can get a phone number for any state or area code you want. My companies uses this service so that we don't have to buy an expensive phone service (we offer legitimate services). We have phone numbers for Michigan, Tennesee and Alabama. They all ring to the office in TN. So without some kind of international cooperation and intervention, not much we can do about these scammers except BEWARE!
