Called my phone left no message

This number called rang twice and hung up in the middle of the night

Called at 10 pm.  I never answer numbers I don't know, certainly not from area codes unfamiliar to me.

Just got this on my cell phone. I did *not* call back.  

According to the following story, some of these are scams where you are charged a lot of money for calling them back. Has anyone noticed that?

209-208-6144 will call you, then hang up on the 2nd ring (they call and hang up on every call they make).   Why?  Because they WANT you to call them back.  Curious people then call the number on their caller i.d. to see who they are.  THIS is how they start their scam.  THEY WANT CURIOUS PEOPLE TO CALL THEM BACK AFTER THEY HANG UP ON THE 2ND RING.  Do NOT call 209-208-6144 on your caller id..   If you do call them, they give you a sales pitch saying you won something but they need your info and a small amount of $ to claim your prize.  DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER.  

I just got new prepaid phone, I  don't even have it for one minute and this number calls rings 2 times then stops,.

I just received a call from that number.  It rang twice and they hung up.  Left no message.

Just called my cell, rang briefly and hung up without leaving a message. If it ever calls back again, I'll block it.

Missed a call from 209-208-6144 today 11:23 am est; so they must still be in business scamming.

Scam. $100 gift card. Need a credit card. It's a no-go from the first ring.

rang, hung up , hit redial, 100 gift card for going on a website (Not) wanted my first and last name, started to ask them ??? they got rude, told them I was not on any websites that had my cell. told them I was going to report them, but can't because I hit redial and I called them, new twist to old scam ,reward redemptions, said they work for walmart, best buy, ect. I hate this B.S. I am looking for a job and can't not answer or call back just in case. I could spend all day checking phone numbers to see  who they are and miss that one call!

Received a call at 8:36 p.m. last night. It rang 1 1/2 times. I assumed it was a wrong number and didn't give it another thought until I saw a Better Business Bureau scam warning today, about cell phone calls that ring once and hang up. (Apparently with some of those calls, if you call back you get charged a hefty fee and put on hold, racking up more hefty fees for each minute you're on hold.) From what y'all have posted, this doesn't look like one of those numbers, though. Was just curious!

got a call 4:05 pm, rang twice, stopped

I received a call from (209) 208-6144 twice so far today. One call came in at 12;03p.m., and one call came in at 1:59p.m. on Jan. 30, 2014. The phone would ring for a few seconds and hang-up. I didn't have time to answer the phone. I didn't call them back, and hope they stop calling me.

Seems like all these calls are going to mobile phones. I wonder who sold a list (including the silly no-call-list numbers). I wonder if these are all from the same phone service provider.... They called me twice in a matter of a couple of hours. Hung up quickly after 2 rings.

I had recently downloaded that app to win prices spun it and won a gift card apparently. I didn't really look into n then I got this call and call it back..gave my address but nothing else...n then hung up because I was asked for my credit and debit card...I'm hoping nothing gets affected cuz I have my address:///

when you accept some apps on your phone you give them permission to read your phone number. to read all your contacts and some you give mission to send text from your number . you need to read the apps permission you're giving before you install them. A lot of apps ask for permission totally control everything in your phone and you accept without reading.

I've received a call from this number, the last two mornings 1/29 and 1/30. It rings twice and that's it. I DO NOT answer from areas I do not know.
