Collection agencies return billions of dollars to banks evey year.  The government uses collection agencies to collect tickets, taxes, and student loans.  Helping people get out of debt and fix their credit, yes I would consider this noble.  You are stereotyping an entire profession based on the handful of jerks out there that treat debtors like crap and break laws.  Well guess what there are bad attorneys, bad doctors, bad cops...but no one goes around bashing them as much as they do collectors.  If all collection agencies suddenly ceased to exist the economy would crash.  And the profession is as old as the bible.  Screw U

By law you do not have to pay a third party collections.
You did not start the debt with them. If at any time you make a payment arangement with them that is a new contract and then they can sue you
The company that gave TAM   Acount had charged it off there books and TOOK Aloss for taxes. The money you give TAM WILLnever go to the orignal company.

They keep calling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
after so many times i change my number and house number they find me, i had to move to 3 different locations across the united states. and they keep calling!!!!!!
one time i had a conversation with one of the them, and she was asking weird questions, and she knew everything of me, she said that im in the red list, and my four kids are in the yellow list, and then ask "what are you talking about" could this have been a prank call from one of the workers from within the company or whatever this Talbot Adams & Moore is!!!!!!!!!
whatever it is, its not funny, a employee could easily do this we all know this, since theres so many of them, its hard to pin point who it could have been. PLUS! they could easily change there voice with voice changers.

We have been getting calls from this number too, but we never answer. They are clearly a bunch of a**holes.

Yes i received a call aswell, they called but i wasn't home and my brother answered. They asked him if he was Jeffrey and he said no but he never gave him his name before and they would always call here. They new my first and last name then they said they'd take us off of the calling list. But i'm sure they'll call again. The first call they had ever made, my brother said that it was a girl that sounded [***] and her name was my sister's name Tiffany! What the hell. That upsets me. They are harrassing me now.

These dumbasses call and call but now thanks to google voice all they hear is "this number has been disconnected" Try to leave your stupid messages now f*cktards!  I've told them time and again I am not "Gary".  Well now I don't have to deal with them. :)

This company TAM, Inc. called and asked me for my ex-husband that lived in Texas....they said they would remove my number so they do not call here any more! Iam on the NO-Call list and I will report them if they call back here again!

I have a hispanic last name.  The caller spoke spanish, I DONT SPEAK SPANISH. My first name is a very white name...

I just they just hung up on me when I wouldn't verify my date of birth.  I called them back and told them to remove my number and the crazy chick said she wouldn't.  When I got ahold of a "manager" I said I won't be verifying my information he said I was acting childish and he wouldn't stop calling me.  I just hung up on him.  What can be done?

The call from 210-858-2801 kept asking for a person that we did not know and insisted that we had been given as reference.

This Number is suspicious.... They are calling a relative of mine asking to speak with someone with a name similar to my own. They also called before normal business hours (0725 hours)on possible separate occasions. The caller refuses to provide or repeat any given/requested information. When the phone number is dialed, it gives a recorded message stating: "We are unable to complete your call at this time, please try again later, message 12..switch 641." Due to the suspicious nature (alongside other similar complaints posted by others)of this situation, I am reporting the incident(s) and phone number to the proper authorities (i.e., FCC, + etc.)

These people have called every day at 6:00am. Looking for someone I don't know. They also called one day and used extremely foul language.

Report them to the FTC for the following FDCPA violations:

Calling before 8AM local time,

Harassing a non-debtor, AND:

Using profane language.
