- BruceI answered - 2 second hesitation before answer on other end, which sounded like the usual call for solicitation of money for charity. Hung up before anyone spoke as I always do and dialed *69, which brought this number up. Usually *69 can't report a number from a solicitor. I don't know anyone in NYC, so I did a Google search and this page came up.

- Derrick RemingtonDear Primus,
You send offers to use your company and you continue to phone to get our business and you are told that we do NOT wish to do business with you. Now you are sending a bill in my 82yr old mother's name, as if she had used your service and owes you money. Our service is with SHAW and we pay for all communication services to SHAW. Since I am unable to talk to anyone at Primus to straighten this matter out, this is the only way I can tell you to stop this time wasting misrepresentation and cancell your ficticious statement of account. I expect you to take this seriously and have a representative answer this e-mail and resolve this matter A.S.A.P. I will not post the account# you have assigned.
Seriously displeased,

- SamJust got from a week of vacation when call for 212-345-6789 came in to my cell phone. The caller had an accent - sounded like a person from India to me. He said his name is Sam and that he's with Microsoft. When I asked why he called he told me that for the past two days my computer has been sending them errors.
Seemed odd to me as I turned off my computer before I left and when I got home just before this call came in, the computer was still off - no power on it at all. I just couldn't believe my computer sent messages to Microsoft while it was off. When I told "Sam" he must be a liar he tried to confince me. When I told him my cmputer had been powered off he hung up.
Sam, call me back - let's talk about my amazing computer.
Reverse lookup http://www.reversephonelookup.com/number/2123456789/ gave "Sam" a different name. - BarbJust received a call on my cell from 212-345-6789. Answered it only because I have family in NY. Foreign woman caller who stated she was calling from "Windows" as in Microsoft Windows 7 or XP. I asked her twice because i had difficulty understanding her. She repeated her statement and the said "We are going to look at your computer, yes?" I said no, we are not, and hung up on her. Obviously a scam of some sort.

- JANI received a call from this number- 212-345-6789. The caller using the name Marsh Mc Lennan, stated that my computer was sending out messages that it has a virus. That it is a very destructive virus "trying" to attack my computer. Marsh Mc Lennan proceeded to instruct me to turn my computer on and he will help me stop the attack. I told him I have two computers. A new laptop and my old computer with a new virus protection installed. Marsh said that it is not working because he is getting signals from my computer sending out a virus. And I need to have my computer on in order too correct the problem. (it didn't sound right.) I asked if he could call back at 3:00. He said make sure that I answer. (hhhuummm?) So I'm here checking your helpful information. Thank you so much.
- Caller: COMPUTER HELP
- Eric MillerGot a call with caller ID 2-123-456-7890, I picked up the phone, no one was there, I said hello a couple of times but all I heard was a hissing sound, then a quick whistle and hung up on me.
Never received a call with a 2-sevendigitnumber before and now am worried about another ID attack. I'm getting sick of this, wastes a lot of my valuable time. - Judith CroccoDaily calls past 4 days with hang ups if answered.
- Caller: Marsh, Mclennan
- NancyThe name on the caller ID says Masri Eman. I did not answer because I figured it was a scam and this website confirms it.
Thanks to all who post here - you're really helping people out and I, for one, appreciate it!- Caller: Masri Eman
- K TurnerWe received a call from this number recently. As per usual, while my spouse dealt with the phone, I immediately did an Internet search on the number showing on the Caller ID display on the TV screen (thank you Cox for that awesome feature). The display said the caller was Marsh & McLennan; my rapid-fire search quickly told me of how this company was located in floors 93-99 of one of the World Trade Center towers and no one there on 9/11/2001 got out. There's more but anyway, all of it was making alarm bells go off all over the place, and I started giving negative signs to my husband (a police officer who happens to have a Bachelor's degree in computer networking).
The man on the phone with a very thick Indian accent said our computer had a virus and he needed to have us do some things to it while talking to us over the phone. This stunk to high heaven. My husband said ok, we have multiple computers, so which one is it? (I'd just turned them all OFF because we didn't know who this guy was, or what he could possibly be doing from a remote location. Better safe than sorry at that point.) The man kept demanding that we sit at the computer and have it ON, but still no info on which one. Hubby said I'm not doing ANYTHING until you tell me what a MAC I.D. is! So the guy then read off our house address, which was a bit disturbing, but he obviously had no clue what a MAC I.D. was, so he clearly was totally, completely clueless about computers and this was obviously a scam. After several requests for MAC I.D.s went unanswered, he hung up.
We then called the number from the display, supposedly to Marsh & McLennan. A recording said their number is known to be spoofed in Canada and has been reported to the authorities, and if we have been a victim of it then to call Phonebusters. (Ppl in the US can also talk to them as well, and we can talk to our own Dept of Commerce. They need to know of this growing problem.)- Call type: Prank
