How do I stop It. - truthI just got a call from 212-456-7890 AND 646-574-4255 from a person with an Indian accent claiming to work for Microsoft. You can hear a bunch of people in the background like a loud call center. She said that my computer was sending Microsoft error messages without my knowledge and was infected with viruses and malicious software. She said she would tell me what to do to FIX the issues. I asked her what kind of computer I had and she couldn't tell me so I hung up. They called back from the second number and I threatened to call the police. THESE ARE SCAMMERS!!! DO NOT ALLOW THEM ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER!!! I have already informed Microsoft and wanted to let all of you know to BEWARE!!!

Dr. Van Nostrand from the clinic said if you forward this e-mail then Bill Gates will team up with AOL and do a survey with NASA. Then the astronauts will collect prayers from school children all over America and take them up to space so that the angels can hear them better. Then they will go to the Pope, and he will take up a collection in church and send the money to the......... - Bill replies to JeffI just got one of these calls. They had me type cmd at the command prompt and then repeated back to me that they were able to track me down by the unique value on my computer that she read back to me. Of course it is probably not a unique ID so they had me going for a minute.
- JimI picked up the phone before it went to VM and the "technician", either indian or pakistani by the accent, informed me that my computer was sending error messages. I said really? Which Computer??? I have 5 here at the house/office. He said it doesn't matter and I had to let him fix it. I said OK, which operating system is it on so I can use the correct computer... "UHHH I DON'T KNOW" was his reply... I said that's pretty good since right now their all turned off... He got real quite. I asked to speak with his supervisor and he hung up the phone. Oh well too bad I work for a telco company... More Later.

- XavierWell, I just got a call from this number (ANGELA) and told me that they were from Microsoft Windows and that there was a MALWARE sending them messasges and that they wanted me to turn on my computer and they would search my computer for me.... I asked for their RETURN phone number (347-352-0133) and hung up... This is the 3rd time they have called my home. I even reported it to the Masschusetts Attorney General and they do not want to do anything about it.

Called repeatedly over a period of three days, always hung up when the answering machine picked up. Answered it today. A man said he was calling regarding my personal computer. I said "which one?". He repeated "YOUR personal computer, ma'am." I told him we are registered with the do-not-call list and before I could demand he remove my number, he disconnected the call. Reported to the do not call registry as a scam. Use common sense, never give out your personal information or access to your files to unknown sources!- Caller: Unknown

- ~ no scam hereCalled in December - woman with heavy indian accent says I have "malicious infection" on my computer. Said they are the "head server -- cpu" and that my computer is sending them error messages that say my computer is infected. I asked their name and to speak with their manager because I could barely decifer what they were stating due to their heavy accent and that I did not initiate the call so what did they want from me. They asked me to turn on my computer so they could fix it ... and I asked what are you charging me ... they said, "it depends"... so I hung up and called the geek squad to find out they were phonies.

with spyware and if I went on line she could help me. I told her I wasn't able to go online and to call later.
I then entered the name ameyo and the number 212-456-7890 which I am reporting .... I asked her where she
got my number and she could not answer that question.. I also heard many voices in the background like
telemarketers very noisy.... Thank God I was suspicious because my computer is running slow. I do hope they

- Me| 2 repliesWe received the same call from this number from an individual with a thick Indian accent. Said they were from Global PC Support and that they had our IP number from our computer and that there was Malware infecting our computer. If we could go on the computer and give access they could clean it up for us immediately. This was a free service they provide.
I told my husband to hang up the phone as they are HACKERS! Wished I picked up the phone, as I would have told them where to GO - very loud and clear. I hate these people, they insult our intelligence.
NEVER NEVER NEVER give any information to ANYONE on the phone unless you yourself contact the company and know they are reputable.
P.S. - for Call Type, you need to add HACKERS.- Caller: Supposedly, Global PC support
