The actions of this illegal business affects companies and their employees in ways you may not immidiately think of.

    For example:
    - Employees from businesses losing their jobs from booking with GDS, knock on effects such as losing homes, divorces etc etc (This obviously has happened to MANY people)

-Struggling small businesses trying to make ends meet, supporty their staff and fight for survival. GDS comes along selling the dream and takes them for as much as they can get, assisting in failed businesses. (And no, you can't justify fraudulent activity with these businesses based on the fact they should do more research! You have a responsibility to look out for your fellow human being, if everyone in the world was like this we would live an appalling existence).

-Genuine businesses have less opportunities to be successful because of illegal businesses like GDS, taking marketing budgets otherwise designated for legitimate marketing exercises, installing distrust into the industry and creating the culture that to get ahead you have to be dirty, NOT TRUE.

-Employees who are treated appallingly, who lose their future and opportunities because of the brainwashing through GDS, people who could've done much better things and are then sucked into being crooks for the fortune of very few.

I could go on and on and on.

Why is it that so many defensive statements on here from obviously existing GDS managemnt staff refer to 'disgruntled ex GDS employees' with nothing better to do????????????????

I can tell you, I have worked in some seriously horrible jobs in my time, but never, never have I been and worked anywhere like GDS. SO WHAT IF THIS BLOG IS FULL OF DISGRUNTLED GDS STAFF!?!? They have every right to be angry!

An organisation that goes completely out of its way to scam companies and slavedrive it's employees. GDS doesn't care about any company, any person other than the people at the very top. It's time that those people at the very top had a taste of their own medicine, not physically by any means, violence is UNACCEPTABLE.

There are many other ways to expose, aggrovate and disrupt the people at the top. The account is in arrears, time to pay.

    scam! replies to Ex GDS
Whilst I agree with most of your comments - I believe strongly that you are in fact an existing GDS Employee.

You would not take the time to point out certain facts i.e payments, if you weren't defending the company.

Nobody would defend GDS, as you know full well, is a scam!

REALLY SAD THAT THIS STILL HAPPENS
In business you will never keep anyone happy one hundred percent of the time. You will get disgruntled employees (rightly or wrongly), you will also have unsatisfied customers.

Whilst working at GDS I found the majority of staff were either unhappy or as described previously (brain washed). I must admit I found this really sad, the main reason being, these people were fully aware it was a scam and tried to come up with the most awful excuses to cover the sham, that I have ever heard.

I was only there a short while and the number of blow outs was horrendous, not because they weren't sold etc etc, simply because lots of companies steer well clear of GDS. If a contract went to a legal department - the deal died immediately- why would this be unless the contract was so vague and ambiguous you are obviously being scammed.

Leads that were generated were of absolutely no use - incorrect people, contacts, companies no longer in existence etc!

People who did call around to their colleagues had never heard of the B2B publication, even though virtually every C level exec is on the mailing list?

They have spoken to competitors who have hinted at what the company does whilst not opening themselves for any backlash. Clients who had been harassed before agreed payment date, clients who were unhappy with the mag due to spelling and grammatical errors. People who received absolutely zero inquiries from the print edition - let alone the fictitious leads on from the site.

Summits with an attendee list that could be found at a Tesco's opening, companies who told their entire seven days were covered in the cost, only to find out they had to pay for their rooms etc in addition to the 30K.

Constantly changed circulation statistics, making your own media kit from Google - all of these things absolutely cannot be denied. I have worked in sales for a long time, I have held very good positions and so I was completely blown away by the unaashed attitude of the place.

Some people say this is sales but I can categorically state in any real sales ethics are very important. This does not include double glazing, recruitment, door to door etc where these jobs really are the pits.

Just to give you an idea a good BDM in finance, capital equipment etc will earn 30 - 40K basic and up to 60 -70 K in bonus, sometimes substantially more (if you are good that is).

I know for a fact that virtually none of the longstanding GDS

ultimatly there is no excuse for poor enquiries when you can actually buy names and data from Dunn & Bradstreet for 0.25pence per name and contact details.

Course if you worked at GDS you are disgruntled, very few arnt! Lets be honest if you were there for any period of time you would have had your money [***] with, commission clawed back or manager stealing your deals.

The place is a chop shop, we all made mistakes working there, so lets use our knowledge to hit where it hurts!

    Corporal Joseph Large
Oh hello, Corporal Joseph Large here!

After I retired from active duty I started to work for GDS and I believe it is the best place in the world to work! I should know I have worked in 194 of the 195 countries in the world (mainly performing the role of a paper boy or a milk delivery man) - the only one I didn't work in was Turkey. I have always preferred chicken.

Sorry I've not been more racist / obscene in this post... I probably need to be a bitter ex-employee before I do that! Talley Ho, Chocks Away!

    shocked
I used to work at GDS, my first job out of college. One day at work, while dialing my own cell phone number for the 100th time (to avoid having to cold-call anymore people), I listened to one of the employees next to me get a CEO's cell phone number from his secretary. He did this by pretending to be a doctor in a hospital, stating that his daughter was there and that she was in an emergent situation that needed immediate attention.

    I quit that day.

    Ex-GDSer Shutting It Down
Everyone ignore the ridiculous comments on here - ie: @Corporal Joseph Large.  Lets keep posting real, factual information about how GDS scams major corporations.  If you are a current employee at GDS & would like to post login information to their contacts - please do so, so we can start email them as well.

Does anyone on here have an attorney - friend or family?  We need to get them on this case.

ha ha as someone who has only recently started at gds I find it extremely funny how many people are bitching away words like boiler room, months of stress if you was so goood why dont you just quit. I have not lied or changed my name as of yet and I am doing some good business, genuine business. If people lie and say disgusting things to get deals so be it. but at the end of the day with commission sometimes running into thousands, who wouldnt?? quite crying, keep hold of your P45 cause I am looking forward to a long and wealthy career with GDS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABY

@Ex-GDSer Shutting It Down - "How very dare you!"

I would like to ask people to ignore the ridiculous, unfounded comments and lies about GDS and stick to the racism and lewd comments that expose the truth about disgruntled ex-employees.

Also Mr. Ex-GDSer Shutting It Down - I knew Raymond Burr who played Ironside in the popular 60's detective drama; but sadly he died in 1993 after trying to uncover a GDS scam, where apparently, they were going around stealing candy of babies. Strange but true.

Also strange but true - More people are killed each year by coconuts than sharks. Approximately 150 people are killed each year by coconuts.

    interesting
Apparently, GDS has added IDC analysts to the Spoke business directory as employees of GDS so when someone googles GDS + IDC, they appear together... Perhaps someone should let the IDC know about this

    unbeleivable
Got a call from these hucksters today. Very intriguing pitch, but they made the mistake of mentioning individuals who happen to be personal friends of mine. After reaching out to them, they thanked me for the tip (i believe at least one of them is contemplating legal action), and I thanked them for helping me not waste my money. I was also made aware of this blog and I simply cannot believe what is happening on the other end of the line.

I have confirmed that GDS works with IDC and Frost & Sullivan, but now I understand why both Gartner and Forrester (the most widely respected analysts firms in the IT space) REFUSE to work with GDS.

No reputable organization should align themselves with this type of company.
