Thanks for that insight I have worked at Accenture for 4 years now, I will be sure to pass these comments along to the Marcom  and legal team, I am sure they are going to appreciate reading this thread and using our name in this manner.

Not in a million years replies to R. Mill
There is not even a remote chance that the re-books are even a tick above 20%. You can tell your self anything you want, and drink all the company Kool-Aid you want, still doesn't make it true

I doubt Accenture would employ anyone as dumb as you... Aside from the fact that nothing on here could be used in courts (especially against GDS)... But come on! A guy called R. Mill? Really?

Are you a cleaner for Accenture?

I see a lot of notes on here bagging on Rob D. I worked there for a while, had moderate (but not great) success, and quite frankly, do not like the company. But I have to be honest, Rob may have been a bit of a hard ass, but he was also quite fun and fair. Whether or not he actually cared about people is up for debate, but he always seemed to remember little things about each of us, and made a point to say hello. I for one am impressed by the guys work ethic and leadership skills. Shady or not, he single handed took us out of that dump on Whitehall St., grew the company, hired a ton of people, and still managed to turn some serious profit. I for one am glad I had a chance to work with the guy.

    Seriously? replies to EX-Employee
Did he make you write this? I mean seriously? The guy is a weasel, a crook, two faced, short, obnoxious, annoying, and if you think he cared about you or anyone else for that matter, you probably deserved to work there. Know this about Rod Davis, he would climb over his own mother to further his own interests.

    FACTS
FACT: The delegate lists are made up. FACT: The magazines never made it to anyone FACT: None of your people sit on "an advisory board" FACT: IDC has told you time and time again to stop FALSELY representing them. FACT: You hire kids right out of school for the sole purpose of having people who are gullible and do not realize that what you do is completely unethical, and in a lot of cases illegal. FACT: That little weasel Jason "Dudley Moore" Green is the biggest crook of all, riding the backs of kids straight into hell

27 yr old CEO? Please...........LMAO  and hes not related to SPENCER GREEN .. maybe just maybe.....this company is made up of scum and Ollie is the perfect puppet Spencer can use to run his scampire.... You just wait and see what lies ahead for you in the real world when GDS comes crashing down Mr Smart.

Is it fair to put this company in the same sentance as the SS in Nazi Germany? I want to know one thing; why is there such a campaign running on here in the first place? Don't get me wrong; I'm not here to defend or judge and in fact am a former employee and spent some time in sales (and I admit that I wasn't very good), but I enjoyed selling the event sponsorships and certainly the money was good and the earning potential was there. I just didn't score enough to be a top earner.

The aim of this entire website is to 'expose' companies who call on an unknown number and to learn by asking the right questions if you're unsure when receiving a call. Some of these posts in this thread are nothing but vicious individual attacks, while some are rants about nothing other than bad experiences and probably being released from a job that you enjoyed, but didn't perform (like me).

What happened to you to make you hate this company so much?

    Back on Topic
The following are typical lines you will hear when contacted by GDS, and how you can defend yourself against the lies they will tell you. It's also worth noting that they rarely use GDS as the name of the company they are calling from. More than likely it will be NextGen something or the CIO/CFO/FST Group.

    1. I'm calling you on a direct recommendation from ........
(Ask who the person is, and if you can contact them before you continue with the conversation)

    2. Hello this is _________, Executive Director, (or VP) of blah blah blah
(Probe a little.....Director huh? Where did you study? What year did you graduate? where did you work prior)

    3. I sit on an advisory panel of blah blah blah
(Ask to speak to the other people on the panel to verify the persons identity)

    4. One key area my delegates have highlighted for investment is blah blah blah
(Have them elaborate, It's your field, you will quickly find they just took a press release for your company and are throwing your words at you as a hook)

    5. We are only inviting 20 solution providers versus 65 delegates......
(BULL...they will invite as many suckers as will pay without regard for ratios)

    6. The sponsorship I had in mind for you is a Silver sponsorship, costs 59k US....
(WRONG, they have the same package in mind for everyone, truth be told, you can negotiate this down to about 20k with very little effort)

    7. Just to let you know the timelines I am working towards.....I have booked 18 of 20 spots......Time is not on my side blah blah blah
(Think of it this way, if they did have 18 booked, and they are "really excited" to have a company like yours on board, why the hell are they calling you in the 11th hour? Is it because your company is an after thought? Are they lying? Either way, it should give you pause)

    8. I need to send out a reservation for for you to sign.....
    (IT'S A CONTRACT......CALL IT A CONTRACT!!!)

    9. What is the exact decision making process to get you involved in something like this?
(The whole point of this question is to circumvent you, disregard your opinion and requests and CALL YOUR BOSS, If you are the boss, then they want to waste more time of your management team by pitching them)

Bottom Line: GDS does put on events, and people do show up to them, with that said; The delegation is lied to in order to get their attendance, and they usually are not there to buy anything. You must question everything they say. Lying is the company norm, and they will make up things on the fly to hook you. I am not saying not to do business with them, if you choose to do so, HOLD THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE, you will quickly see how the whole ball of lies unravels.

    Smithy.
Everyone, everyone whether it's Gary Barlow organising a concert or a salesman selling slots at a conference embellishes the truth in the first few deals/bookings.  Most people salesmen sell to are in sales, it's a given, a known that sales means clever spinning of the truth.   God, I think people here think GDS clients are morons.  Perhaps there is much to be desired about how they treat their staff, quick fire demotions and sackings, contracts that barely hold water, Kash Hassan being allowed to get away with screaming at a girl, during work time in front of a whole office, he's sleeping with when engaged to be married, Ollie Smart engaged to the office bike, etc.....But their summits and conferences are fantastic.

I had a great time working in the Bangalore office. I wasn't a sales person when i started in GDS,  i did have a lot of support from the trainer and my immediate boss which made me better in the course time. I don't work with GDS anymore but i am still working in the same industry for the last 7 years which has been great. GDS  has definitely made me a very confident person and will always be thankful to the support. As u guys state its a Scam, not a right buisness model etc... No company in the world is legit than lets take multi billiondollar companies like McDonalds, exxon mobil, Chevron etc... Blog about them i am pretty sure it wont make a difference, success makes the difference. If you dont like something move on and stop whining.

GDS are the sharks of the conference industry... Cheers

Aside from the fact that "Meet The Boss" is fraudulent garbage I know very little about that segment of the business and which parts are fabricated, please help out...if you can keep a cool head and think strategically about how to get them off and not just sling insults.

Ha! replies to Dear Typical lines
Don't you think all sales people use 'lines' to create urgency and push a deal through? Has a travel agent ever told you that there are only 5 seats left on a flight? Or an Estate Agent told you someone else was doing  viewing straight after you......?? Jesus! Come on! Im amazed you ever got a job there to be honest.....

GDS is a scam and they constantly LIE. They called our company telling us how reputable they were and want us to join the NG Oil & Gas Summit in Asia. We spoke with a Thomas Mayne & Thomas Gabriel who tried to pressure us into paying them $ 43,892 to join their conference. They sent us a contract and when I informed them that we were not interested, they were upset and told us they had already to all the delegates we were joining the conference. ALL LIES AND DECEPTION !

STAY AWAY FROM GDS INTERNATIONAL !

    DO SOME RESEARCH !

    Well done replies to 888notes.com
I am not above congratulating an opponent when they play well.

Proving that you offer a good service and fixing up the points were you fall short as a company is the way to approach criticism on this site, rather than insulting, degrading and threatening people :-)

I am honestly suprised that there was someone at GDS with enough common sense to write something like this.

Just for that I will spare your Meet The Bosss wikipage from my wrath if you keep this up :-)

    NICE TRY TRASH BAGS
THIS IS NOT BEING A SALESMAN, THIS IS BEING A SCUMBAG WOULD ONE OF THE SMART A**ES FROM GDS EXPLAIN THIS...STILL NO COMMENT ON THIS?? SEEMS GDS HAS AN ANSWER  OR JUSTIFICATION FOR EVERYTHING...EXPLAIN THIS GARBAGE BELOW

"I haven't done a deal without obtaining a cell phone number.  Most direct route into the decision maker at any time. Be creativeno one way to obtain cell numbers is the same. Stick with what works pertaining to the guide lines......."

"Pose a an individual from a partnering company- to do this effectivley, go onto the company's website, look for the tab :technology partners" and pick one of the larger ones. Now go to that company's website and select a C level person to pose as. Now call the company you want to obtain the number for, call a receptionist of that person and give them the following story.... You have a breakfast meeting with so-and-so here in NYC, the meeting was at 11;30 and it is now 11:50. You have been waiting here for him for over 20 minutes. This meeting was scheduled by your assistant who is now on maternity leave, and you need to reach the person immidiatley. The key here is to sound convincing, make it real..as if this is actually happening to you.

Other ways they teach yu is to pretend you work for the company and have "lost your blackberry" and need to contact so and so RIGHT NOW. And if that does not work, call offices all over the world until you get what you want.
