Dell Computers are calling 5 times  a day wanting to sell me a warranty. I recently bought a computer from them, and they have been trying to sell me extended warranty since then.

I bought a computer from Dell a little over a week ago.  I have received two phone calls so far from Dell.  They are trying to get me to buy an extended warrantee.  I didn't tell them not to call me again, but I will tell them that I'm not interested in the extended warranty when i next speak with them.

Same here... but I called the number back after about 4 days of Dell calling at least 5x a day (not leaving a message)... Once I found out who and what they were trying to sell... I had them pull up my info and when they confirmed that they were seeing it... I mentioned to them to please take me off their calling list! It stopped!!

Dell USA has called several times a day for the past two days never leaving a message - just calling.  We bought a Dell computer over 5 years ago so I don't think they would be calling about a warranty, etc.

For some reason, they keep calling my number, but asking for someone who is related to me, but lives in another state.  They obviously don't have his number and are trying people with the same last name.

I have been called 8 times within 3 hours & they have left no messages. They apparently continue to call until they get a "live" answer. They try to sell extended warranties. I called back to request to be removed from their calling list, but only heard the answering machine. They answer as "IT for SOHO."

Got a call from this number today. Whitepages.com says its an unpublished number. Was thinking it may have been an old friend/coworker but decided to google it and found a link to this site. Very cool!

I did get a call from Dell two days ago wanting to sell me a warranty on an old laptop thats long been out of warranty. I told them I wasn't interested, but I guess they decided to try again.

Thanks for this post!!! It saved me a ton of time and allowed me to call them back for a warranty I'd inquired about - just 90 minutes before they called & hung up twice leaving no message but just "clicks" on my voicemail.

I received several calls from Dell USA offering to sell me an extended warranty on a Dell computer for which the warranty has long been expired.  This was not the first company to contact me implying a connection to the Dell Computer Company.  In researching the earlier calls, I found out that the other companies had no real connection with Dell but were using the company's name as part of their own to imply they did and gain potential client trust.  None could provide any link to the Dell Computer website.  The same was true for this company.  They had the last four digits of one of my credit cards but began asking for other critical information (SSN, the card's current expiration date, etc.).  I asked them to send me the request in email and they refused.  I asked them to read me the I.D. and/or model number of my Dell computer and they refused, claiming that they did not "keep" such personal information.  Gotcha.  Identity theft detection.  Watch out for these folks.  At the very least, they're going to rip you off for the cost of their so-called warranty service.  At worst, they're going to steal your identity and everything that goes with it.

I received the same call.  However, what's weird is that it is always at the most inconvenient times.  I have received several calls on Sunday as well.  When I did answer, there was such a delay in response to my "Hello" that I just hung up.

I had purchased a Dell 2 years ago through my employee sales channel here at work and now I've had 6 incoming calls from this number in the last 2 days. One went to voice mail and the only thing recorded was another phone ringing in the backround. I remember that area code 213 is LA; I have no connection there so I don't pick up the call.

They will call multiple times during the day and never leave a message. I called Dell to ask them about this and they said that they haven't called us at all recently. So these people are scammers.

This # has called several times in past 2 days- Every time I answer, nothing on the other end!!! Looked up the # in case it was important, found this awesome web site... We did just buy a brand new Dell laptop, but we got a extended warranty when we bought it so I have no idea what more Dell would want. Thanks for the info about the scammers!!!
