We have a laptop computer that is about to go out of warranty.  This number just called without any response on the other line.

for the last three days this # has called, but says nothing, than hangs up!

multiple calls daily without any message when i pick it up.
i think it is from Dell.

Got call from 213-228-8970 a few times...never a message so the smart thing to do is whistle into the phone...did it and they've never called back.  whoo hoo   That'll teach them.  Wonder if they lost their hearing?

I have also been getting these calls- 3 times in the last 6 hours.  I didn't answer the first 2 and got no message, then the second time I answered and there was no one there!  Gah!  Good to know its a scammer, not that I would have bought an over the phone warranty on a type of computer i don't even own!  I have a toshiba computer! I've never owned a dell!

I just got my first call from those pigeons.

This number has called me at work 4 times just this morning (2/29/08)!  No messages left.  Since reading all the comments here, I've tried calling it back, always buzy.   We do have a Dell Computer, It's about 3 yrs old, I guess I could have used my work number when I bought it.

I received a call supposedly from Dell asking if I wanted to purchase an extended warranty.   The woman didn't sound professional at all, so I assumed that it wasn't really from Dell.   Is this really a Dell representative?

This person claiming to be from Dell is wanting me to purchase an extended warranty for my Dell laptop that was purchased almost 1 year ago.
I asked her to send me an e-mail with the prices but very skeptical.  Then I found this website and very glad that I did not agree to via telephone.  She said that she would need to call me and that I could not call her back. I actually found info. from Dell when I purchased my computer and I will use this information if I choose to extend my warranty.  The person told me that she was calling from India but when I did the reverse lookup, I noticed that this is a California area code.

Heck, it looks like alot of people got this call from this number.  I just got a call today from this lady asking if I wanted to extend the warranty.  She said that I could extend it for another year for 100 some dollars.  I told her that I have everything covered and don't want it!

Nothing is safe anymore in the "greedy" world.  Someone is constantly getting scammed......no wonder everyone is so skeptical about everything!

these guys keep calling and then hang up. i call back and the line is busy. i want them to stop. i called dell customer service (1-800-624-9897) and really explained to them how it hurts their business and asked for a response and they told me they couldn't send a response but that it "would be taken care of." they can send a response!!! and i was actually going to make another purchase bbut will wait and see now.

I've been getting calls from this number on my business phone for weeks now.  I never pick up, because 1) I don't recognize the number and 2) the never leave a message.  Reading that they might be scammers frosts me!  Next time I'm going to pick up and totally mess with their heads.....

Called wanting to sell me an extended warranty on a PC I purchased.

I got 4 calls from Dell asking to extend my warrenty. One of the calls, I asked that they please stop calling and they hung up before I can finish speaking.

Called me 5 times on Sunday and never left a message.  Called again on Monday night @ 8:15.  I answered and there was no one on the other end so I entered the here.  I think this is a scam. I am going to block them.

They have been calling me for the last few days - not leaving message. Caller ID says "DELL". I tried to call them back, but it seems to always be busy. I bought a new Dell a few weeks ago, and thought maybe there was something wrong - but after reading things here - it is probably a scam.

They have been calling me from this # for days now.  They call multiple times a day and never leave a message.  It really urks me because they are calling on my business phone and I can't help but think they may be a customer when they call and I could be missing a sales opportunity.  Now that I've googled them and found this website, I'll be sure NOT to answer those calls.
