Getting the same cal today. Called local Police and they said "DON"T RESPOND BACK TO THE NUMBER GIVEN IN THE MESSAGE" because they will have your information via caller info your phone company sends them!  If it is a bill collector, they would send a certified letter to your home as it sounds threatening. The Attorney General is trying to do something about this and all scam calls so all we can do is relax and let our wonderful government take care of this mess.

They are bypassing my anonymous caller blocker by "SPOOFING" the caller id system which is illegal in the USA and most likely, these calls are coming from overseas, in another country.

    This call type id fraud/scam

Missed call from this number.  Voicemail left indicated that I needed to contact an attorney regarding this [UNKNOWN] matter.  Called back.  A male with an Asian/Indian accent answered.  I asked why he had just called and threatened me on the phone.  He IMMEDIATELY hung up.

Well Marcus/Sarah/trevor/Melissa, The problem is that everyone knows that the IRS does not accept payment in rupees.  Not that you would ever have enough rupees to pay anything let alone taxes.  They also do not call people and threaten them.  They don't have to.  Now see if you had stayed in school past second grade you could have actually not only written a better story, but the fact is you wouldn't have had to turn to a life of crime stealing from people to feed your cow.

    IRS Scam:

The IRS does not need to sue anyone.  They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office.  Several of them.  Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for.  Again delivered by the Post Office.  Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own.  If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge?  They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given.
