How about telling them "Gee if you were able to detect the virus on my cmputer, the you don't need me to grant them access because they're must already be in it!

This number called my work number and left a partially recorded message threatening a TRO within 24 hours if I didn't call a completely different number... a cell phone in OH. I know a scam call when I hear it. Good thing I didn't pick up.

This guy sounded like he was calling from Jamaica or the UK???   He told me that my computer was infected and that is why I was receiving error messages.   Then he asked if my  computer was on,  it was,  but I said no. I asked him who gave him the authority to make this call and then I hung up.   This guy is dangerous.  Someone else out there could easily be taken in.

Get this guy off.  He is dangerous!!

The Do Not Call list is a toothless unenforced joke that the Gov. cooked up to try and placate the public. The reality is the telemarketing companies make a fortune from companies who pay them to cold call for customers. If there weren't people out there answering and buying, there would be no market. But because telemarketing is a very lucrative industry they have powerful lobbyists who grease the palms of the low life politicians that the lemmings keep putting in office. If your congress people were REALLY about serving their constituents rather than themselves we wouldn't be having this conversation.

What ever made you think scammers and thieves would honor that list?  And those real ones that do, get fined and socked pretty good, you need to file reports..  But don't think its going to stop those scams,extortionist and thieves! Charity's and Political calls are also exempt..   but most will remove you if asked!

Said they were calling from the Windows Technical Bureau because my computer had been sending them reports and was going to crash. I was to go to my computer and follow their instructions. <snort> I kept them trying to explain for awhile and then when I was sure I had wasted enough of their time, I told them I have an Apple computer and don't even use Window. :P

got the same call about my computer..knew some was not right.

I am a receptionist answering phones at a corporate office. I received a call from this company today stating that they were looking for someone and if that person didn't call them , a restraint order would be issued against them. It also stated that I could call them back at the following number 216-217-5984. When I called that number a greeting stated that this was a voicemail box for LRS Litigation , and that is was full so I could not leave a message. I have googled that company and it is widely reported as being some sort of scam call.

I answered the phone, the guy said he's from Penelec (local electric), offering 15% discount, and get my last statement. I asked why the caller ID was not from Penelec, he didn't know. I hung up, and he called back on a private call (no caller ID). I asked why he called back, he said "What?" I said "What?" He asked if I wanted him to call his manager. I said yes, call him instead of us, and hung up. I've added the original number to my phone's call block, and I'll file a complaint with the FCC, which you can also do here:

This recording from 213-337-0014 said that I might have a restraining order against me and that I should call them or have my lawyer call them. When I called back, it's busy. This is a scam. I don't even live in california

They do not realize I am an Attorney.
They do not realize what I can do to scam, in the scam world.
If you want to play games and say, yeah that's me, when they call you, and act like, oh my gosh.

Play along, and if they have false info on you,...that you just provided,( oh yeah, that's me), just to listen to their spill, if it ever goes to Court, you can sue for damages, and hardship, because you are not that person of interest.
Could be a free ticket to a vacation in CA., where they are at.
To go to Court and be awarded damages for that could be worth a lot. Could pay for college.
Mistaken identity is a free ride to financial success when these guys get a judgment, and not you.

Been there, done that.

Been calling a few days I finally answered, they said they were from Microsoft Windows and they have been getting a serious error message about my computer. I told them, Microsoft would never call on something like that and hung up. Blocked number.

I got a call and was told the health department was giving me money because i took birth control ( i never did) then asked if i took meds for depression i said no then he asked if i ever had any surgery . I said i will not talk about it over the phone but give a phone # i can call to verify this is the Health department. He said call 678-995-7643 amd he will answer. Man sounded like he was from India

I spoke to Verizon and they checked the phone # it is a Scam  so i blocked it

Called stating he is with Microsoft saying I have a virus on my computer.  
Nice try [***]. They call 2-3 times a day.

They keep calling saying we ordered medication from them and want $300.00  We have told them over and over again we only deal with our insurance company, but they KEEP calling back.  Sometimes the caller ID comes up Novatel

got a call from this number today...could barely understand with his accent. He said he was calling from Windows and that I had some error messages being sent to them without my knowledge and needed me to go to my computer and do somethings on it to correct.

I hung up.

Received call on my cell from "UNAVAILABLE" and I did not answer.  Within another minute, second call came in showing 213-337-0014.  As others have written, un-intelligible foreign man trying to convey he's from Microsoft team and is getting reports of problem with our computer.  I advised him that Microsoft has a policy to NOT make contacts in this manner.  He got beligerent and assured me the computer has an issue.  I asked for his manager and he hung up.  Total SCAM.   Another number onto the  BLOCK list.  Total TARDS....

Spoke broken english. Could barely understand him. The elderly lady I care for answered and when she could not understand him she had me answer it. I told him to remove our number from there list and never call again or I would turn him into the Federal Trade Commission.
