I started receiving phone calls from this company yesterday.  I swear they called like 6 times just last night.  It started first thing this morning again.  I answered the phone finally and nothing.  I tried to call block it, but can't.  And then of course they called right back. I answered again and lady said she wanted to speak to me about some school thing, I told her I wasn't available or interested and she said ok and hung up.  Hopefully the calls will stop.  This is very annoying as I didn't sign up for anything school information of any kind.

They have called my house 10 times this morning. Is there anyway to stop it? HELP!!!!

A woman called from this number and asked a million questions. She said she was with Discount Business Services? She was loud and rude to us! She called one of our employees a "[***]!"

I have received several phone calls from 213-533-8042, they never leave a message and when I answer they hang up on me.  I have tried calling the number back but all I get is a busy signal. This number calls so much it is frusturating so I looked it up on google to see what the number was registered as and it brought me to this. I want them to stop calling my cell phone.

on jul. 31 this number started calling a seven thirty in the morning and calls every half hour. sometimes answering sometimes not. if you call back all it does is ring busy.

Left no message. Many people here don't seem to realize that long-distance calling these days from far-flung countries is basically as cheap as domestic calls...

So people being harrassed basically face several problems...

1. U.S. law is difficult to enforce for people outside the U.S.; suing them - not even worth the time, since odds of collecting a judgement is close to nil.

2. Caller ID can be altered, and often is to show all calls under 1 number (probably what this is) or even a totally fake number like 000-000-0000, etc.

3. Enforcement of telemarketing related laws is lax ... even if caught the financial penalties are light; meaningless if the company is a fly-by-night ... only tough criminal penalties, like years in prison will true dissuade violators.

4. Telemarketing works - sad, but true ... even on this list of comments, there was one person who said they'd ordered something via a call from that number.

In the meantime, about the only truly effective measure is to screen calls in some way...

Ie. for landlines, some companies sell a box that can be hooked up to selectively block certain numbers / ranges and/or require the caller to listen to a message and enter a PIN at the end to continue their call, etc.

I began receiving these calls up to 40 times a day after filling out a health survey, They never leave a message and refuse to answer who they are!!!

I keep getting the same response when I answer and when I try to call back. It is so very annoying and I have tried to perform a search on the phone number and keep coming to an end. I've noticed that others have reported this number to the fcc. What did you do?

ok i just got my first call yesterday, 8-1-07 on my cell but i did not nswer called back on office phone and it was busy since then(around 2:00pm) i have recieved 7 calls from this number. i think its funny, but kind of annoying too.

so are they an advertising firm, collection agency or a health benefits provider? I got my frist call from them today, Ididn't answer becaue it was too early in the morning but they are relentless and when I call back the line is always busy!!!

I got this call on 8/2/2007, I didn't answer it becaue it was too damn early in the morning then on my way to work they called back to back. When I called back the number is almost always busy. I figured it wasn't important because they never leave VM messages. Based on the above feedback I cannot determine if this is a health care provider, and ad agnecy, or collections. But not leaving a VM message will surely leave them empty handed...

I had this call and I looked on this website, I noticed that several of you have been harrassed by these people. I just got called after a series of calls all this morning. I answered the phone pretending to be the Police Dept of my local city, they asked for my name I told them they have the worng number this is the local Police dept, then they hung up an I haven't been bothered since. Try It!!!

Called about 20 times a day on my cell; leave no messages; even call on the weekends.
Need them to stop; very irritating.

For the past week, calling between 10am and 5 pm, sometimes 8 times a day.  Cant get my cell in the building I work in, so they are logged as missed calls.  When I tried to call back, the number is busy.  Cant get them to STOP.

This company has consistently called for my husband at least 2 times daily for the last 2 months.  I keep telling them that we are on the do not call list but they just hang up or they keep asking for my husband.  They will not provide any info about their company to me. My caller id reads California and has their # as 213-533-8042.  When I call back the line is always busy.

I've had this number call me three times a day. I want them to stop, they call at least everyday and it's getting annoying.
