    Have been receiving calls from this number for 2 weeks now and now my friends and family are starting to receive the calls also. When I try to call back I'm put on hold for extended periods of time. I've made up my mind that I will continue to hold until someone picks up. I've been on hold for 23 minutes so far this time. THIS IS A SCAM and if they continue to call family members and friends I will file a harassment suit...

    I received a message from Global Legal Services. They said it was a legal matter with a restraining order pending? I can't think of anyone who would have a reason to put a restraining order against me? I am disabled & this is very stressfull. I called the # 2-3 times today (9/20/2012) as they said I had 24 hours to respond but was put on hold every time & the last time I was on hold for about 45 min. to an hour. I was curious & I also wanted to clear up any issue that there was! I am going to go to there website, yes I looked it up, & write them an e-mail so I have for my records that I did indeed respond! I also have access on my account through Comcast on there website to all calls received/called on my telephone account with them. I just like to cover all my bases.
    Don't they have to serve me with legal papers? I would like to avoid this & clear this up before that happens if indeed they have a case against me. CONFUSED & FRUSTRATED!!!

    I got the same call. I got worried at first but at the end of the message it says "good luck!" wtf! My cousin who is an attorney said they cannot take you to court without anything in writing first not to mention they would send a court officer to deliver papers. Besides if they wanted something from me why would they file a restraining order against me. That's fine with me because I don't really want to see them anyways. Lol

    Got the same message telling me about a lawsuit and has to contact my lawyer and call them in 48 hours. Oh boy, it's ridiculous! Don't spare time to call them back it's a scam. I heard from someone that there are scammers or global companies that are calling people and when you call them back you will be billed for a long distance call.
    We have to block those numbers!

    Today I recieved a call from "Global Legal Processors" saying that I owed them $1024 due to a "Pay Day Advance Loan" taken out in my name. They said that i could settle out of court today and pay $646 over the phone I said I wanted to dispute it they said I could I would have to take it to court and that I would be recieving a supeana at work the next day and to find me an attourney and have things ready. I called the cops and told them the situation and they even told me it has to be a scam even when you get sued you don't get a phone call you get certefied mail with a summons. I also pulled my credit report and there is no evidence of any type of pay day loan or anything of that nature, this is a total scam and I am taking it as high as possible and intend to sue these people for defamation of character and see how it goes.

    Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
    Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

    These companies are full of it.  They will try to collect on a debt already paid multiple times.  Check and see if they are calling about Midland Financial.  I have had 12 different companies try to collect on same account after it has been paid in full.  Most of them are scams.  Last one that called was working out of an Extended Stay Hotel and I traced him down.  Front desk answered the phone and they was using hotel fax machine to conduct business.  Please verify phone numbers and fax numbers if you are asked to provide proof of payment.  Then another one was using a MajicJack phone to make the calls and hide true location.

    I received a call on my cell phone and home phone.  They also called my sisters home phone....left message on all three phones with the case file number and my full name.  You know this is a scam because I belive it is against the law to leave a message with personal information.  Sure this is a scam.  Looked up the number and it was coming from Plano Tx.  Dont bother calling back.

    I received a call from Global Legal Processing at 214-556-5350 stating I had a restraining order against me and I need to respond within 48 hours and to forward this to my attorney. I was confused so I called back. I listened to the hold music for 10 mins and got frustrated and hung up. I have been reading about this company and it is a total scam.
