- jadeon 8/16/18 received a call. Did not answer (I never do). It is so strange though that my Landline # is non-published. The comments I have been reading are saying the person's name. I try to be very discreet on who gets my number. I am under a dr's care and on medicare. I have a weird feeling that some of the medical staff might be selling our info to these scammers. Any thought on this?

- Scam Buster replies to CambriaQuite obviously, this is the result of American politicians and companies outsourcing their jobs to foreign third party India-based companies. When these Indian companies are hacked by their own people - as the result of primitive, or inadequate, computer security - who do you think gets access to Americans' social security and medical records? This is why and how these India-based scammers get to know Americans by their names. All that corrupt American politicians and companies care about are low wages and high profits. American clients' confidential information are given low priority, or no priority at all!
- Sam Buster replies to NotherecharleyUnfortunately, the "moron" didn't care that you accepted, or rejected, his bait. It only takes a succession of tries to hook their prey and succeed. And not all victims are quick on their feet to recognize a scam for what it truly is; so scammers have no incentive to give up when you refuse to answer. To them nothing beats a failure but a trial; so if they fail with you they'll simply move on to the next victim and the next and...you get the point, I'm sure?
- BotheredIndian accent scammer called and said he was calling in regards to my “recent back pain”. Knowing this was obviously a scam I told him to take me off of call list immediately, be then told me “I would keep your mouth shut” and hung up

- Jasmine| 1 replyRecd 3-4 of these calls in last 2wks, a couple fm #s local 2 my area who left msgs dropping my dr's name & they were calling @ his request. Makes you think it might B legit. I didn't bite & didn't call back. Didn't answer 2day's call fm MI. I just pushed the big red BLOCK button on the new caller blocker I just purchased & set up this week. If they call back, my phone won't even ring- they're auto-blocked. Yay! My phone is much quieter this week.

- DeeThey asked for my husband by name (he died 10 years ago). I said he was unavailable and the lady asked if I could speak his behalf. I said maybe - what is this about. She abruptly hung up. Based on the other posts, it may have been about pain meds. They are now blocked.

- Crosshairs replies to JasmineI've been using my call blocker with the big red BLOCK button for almost a year now. Money well spent for a much quieter house. Tip for you Jasmine...Google a list of US area codes and block the ones where you don't have friends or family or business dealings.
- T.M. CorrReceived phone call 8/24/2018 @2:15 pm. Lady stated she was calling from "the pharmacy" to obtain information in order to fill my prescription. I asked what medication and her answer was "a topical lotion to relieve my skin pain".
She started to ask personal questions about Medicare and my insurance (which I didn't answer). I told her I didn't want this and she immediately hung up.- Call type: Scam suspicion
