Called several times, when I tried to find out who they were he just kept saying we had a lawsuit and wanted to give me a case number with no other info.  I told him we don't owe anything and  if he couldn't give me any other info I wouldn't talk to him and hung up.

 And yet another blocked scammer

Got call on cell this afternoon. Did not answer since I didn't recognize this #.

They called late Thursday evening. I was upstairs. As soon as the phone rang I went to answer. We were awaiting a phone call.
Viewing Caller ID, it read, Ft. Meyers, Fl.
This call and numerous others could be one out of hundreds of scammer. I know, they phone daily, including weekends... This must stop.

Unknown number so I did not answer.  They did not leave a message.  Probably a scam of some sort. Thanks!

Why do you have to wait for ten calls?

He doesn't, and if that comes out in court his case would get thrown out and he would be on the hook for the expenses of the company he sued.  Further it isn't $1,500 per call.  TCPA allows treble damages but that is up to the judge.  The statutory minimum is $500 per call with actual or treble damages allowed.

These turkeys called.

A recorded message claiming that the government is offering a special deal to home owners.
If I were a home owner being made a special deal by the government, they send me a letter.
I was to press one number to speak to angent or another to decline. I hung up.
The "decline" and "no call" options on these things are technical. You won't get further calls from that one number. You'll still get calls.

I didn't answer and the number is blocked now... until they come up with a new number.  What's the point of reporting these calls?  To whom are they reported?  Nothing is done to stop them.

The point of reporting them to the Do Not Call Complaint site is so that they can gather enough information to take the callers to court.  It takes a lot more than one complaint, contrary to popular opinion.  The point of reporting them here is to both alert other people to the scam, and to gather enough information so that people can not only accurately report to the DNC but will enable them to exercise the rights given to them under the TCPA to sue for $500 per phone call.
