- Phone RepHi, I work for a local phone company and someone is spoofing this number. The number belongs to an elderly gentleman in Florida, but, he is not making the calls. Some company is spoofing his number. It is probably a scam. It is difficult for a phone company to track down all these numbers and as soon as we can track one down and shut down that number, they will just change their number.
- Lee County Sheriff's OfficeIf you received a call from anyone claiming they can lower your credit card interest rates you should do some research before giving out any information as this could be a con-artist. For those of you who have already received these calls you can contact your local phone company and block the number;if you are on the National Do Not Call registry you should go on-line to www.donotcall.gov and file a complaint. At this point no crime has occured; no one has had any money stolen or identity compromised so there is no crime to investigate. If your identity has been compromised then you should file a report with your local law enforcement agency. If the caller continues to call you after you told them not to then you can contact your local law enforcement agency to file a report.
- PatLeft no message on voice mail. I won't call numbers back I don't recognize. Took it to be a telemarketer or scam. Why do we have a DNC List, if these jokesters can keep calling? Thanks for the info!
- Caller: Unknown Name
- JanI have been called by this number almost daily for the last few months. When you ask them for info on what company they are with, they usually hang up. This morning the girl said she was from "Genesis Account Services". It's not the Genesis in Oregon. She said she was calling from Ohio, however, this number refers to a Florida exchange. I have reported this to the Do Not Call FTC registery at https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx. If everyone would do this, there would be an investigation. Please file a complaint so these harassing phone calls will stop.
- Caller: Genesis Account Services
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MarkThis guy called back again. When I pressed 1 to speak with a rep., someone came on the line and I immediately asked what the company names was. He said "Customer Services, we deal with Visa and Mastercard". I again asked for his exact company name, and he said "Customer Services". When I said I did not have a Visa or Mastercard, and that this must be a scam, he hung up.

- Coolmallu replies to KujoI live in Virginia and get at least 2-3 calls every week from this number. It is so annoying!! I have never answered, so I don't know why this person is calling me.

- FVReceived a call from the number listed above offering me to reduce the interest on my credit cards. A scam
- PhilI got a call on my cell 23 Jan 2009 from this number. I was not available so the call went unanswered. I'm from Maryland and know people in Florida, so I checked it out on the web and was suprised to see it was a scam, because I have never been targeted as far as I know. My number is out on the web because I am selling my home. Maybe the crook got my number from there.
- Scott replies to rakeyThe problem here is that the CallerID information can easily be fixed to read whatever the caller wants, so it may not be the person who actually owns the "real" phone number.
We go a new 800 number for our business, and started getting calls from people asking us to quit calling them We run a tech support line (inbound calls only), and don't call others, but it turns out someone was calling people and using our 800 number on the caller ID. Caller ID can easily be spoofed, search CALLER ID SPOOFING on google and see. - CoreyReceived a voice mail from this number (239-482-3803) today. Message said it was regarding a credit card account and instructed me to push a button to take advantage of a lower interest rate. It did not indicate a particular credit card company and was very suspicious. I deleted the message.
- jhamyI have had several calls from this number and googled it to find several other people also have recieved them. No message left on machine. this is definetly an unwanted call . I AM SO TIERED OF THIS TYPE OF CALL !! PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO STOP UNWANTED CALLS. I HAVE PUT MY NAME ON OTHER DO NOT CALL REGISTRIES, BUT CONTINUE TO RECIEVE THESE UNSOLICITED CALLS AND I AM SICK TO DEATH OF IT !

- DWUtah - Just received a call from 239-482-3803 - threatening cancellation of our credit card...(knew this was a scam right from the start...we don't use revolving charge) so I played along. Pressed #1, some snot nosed [***] got on and wanted to know who she was speaking with...told her I was interested in the purpose of the call...she immediately hung up. I tried to call the number back "not in service".
- Call type: Debt collector
- RoGot a call from this number today. Get several of these a week. Have asked to have my name and number taken off but it hasn't worked. my ph number is also on the national do not call list. So much for governmental help!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- OklahomaI have received several recordings from an "unknown number" about lowering the interest on my current credit card account. Then I got a call with this number showing and the identical recording. I answered to see who was calling with this scam. When I asked who I was calling, they hung up. I dialed the number back to see if someone answered, and it was "out of service."
- Call MiesterWhen you get calls like these here's what I do. Press 1 (like youre interested in what they are offering) Pressing 2 says you will be removed from their call list-- yeah right! When the person answers, play along like you really want their service. In the case of this number, they were offering to reduce you credit card rates. I told them I have 5 thousand in credit card debt at 20%.This got him interested. Then see how long you can keep the poor [***] on the line. It worked for only 5 minutes befor he caught on and hung up. It wastes their time & makes it less effective for them to do this "cold calling crap". My personal record was for 18 minutes before I told them to eat Sh*t & die. The whole time I'm also doing somthing else like working on the computer or making dinner. Also never give them any real info, just make crap up. If everyone starts wasting their time maybe it will cost them more than its worth. Incidentally the phone company was of no help & suggested that I file a complaint with the states Attorney General. I'm sure THAT would help! Good Luck & have fun! R
- JadeaneCaller said he was from consumer protection. Wanted my credit card info to see if he can lower my interest rate. When I asked for his company web site, he hung up on me. Sounds like a scam to me.
