OK shill, please give us all this wonderful company's name and web site.  It is hard to believe that after your computer was "fixed" you ran to look up their number on a phone call complaint site to sing praise of all the help you received.

My neighbor fell for it, too.  She told me how much faster her computer was running.  I told her about the scam and she took it to a local geek-owned computer repair place.  It turned out the caller had turned off her anti-malware.  Neighbor and her husband had to change all the passwords for their on-line banking.  They also replaced their tower - better safe than sorry.

So now your computer has no anti-malware and is loaded with viruses.  Or, more likely, you are a shill working for the scammer.

I got a call from this # & right away they said they were calling from Microsodt, so I laughed at the guy (with a heavy foreign accent) & said I WORK for Microsoft! Then I told him to try calling people in HIS own country & try to scam them!  So tired of these frigging annoying calls!

Caller with a very heavy foreign (eastern Indian?) accent called to tell me I had something wrong with my computer.  I could tell he was reading from a script.  Knowing it was a scam, I asked which computer he was referring to.  He told me it was the Windows based one.  I told him I didn't have a Windows based computer and he said "Sh*t". When I told him his scam wasn't going to work on me, he hung up.  My caller ID showed 247-851-4245, but I know this can be spoofed.

Simply d1ckhead foreigners trying to weasel themselves into our computer networks and rip us off. Foreign financial/technoterrorism. Screw you guys! Blocked their number. How many more decades will it take to get a phone system that we can trust? The phone companies DO NOT CARE--they make $$ on every call, even if they call ID is totally faked, and a social engineering or phishing attempt.

If we could just send an electric shock back through the phone lines to these a$$hats wasting out time...

Sandy W's Jul 10 Comment was correct, number most likely "spoofed" since the Area Code NPA-NXX 247-851 is an unassigned number block. The Area Code 247 is not assigned to any telephone company, landline, internet or wireless.

Call today just identified as "Name Not Found."  Did not answer, needless to say no message.  Did not realize the 247 was an unassigned code. In any case I never answer, and if the same number is used again, block it.
