The house number they called on has been receiving soliciting calls for different random subscriptions/credit cards/loans. Put it on the "National Do Not Call List" but it'll take 31 days before it has any effect? (Companies registered with the FTC and/or FCC have to check the list every 31 days...) I can't remember exactly....

Its actually funnier to call back the number they called you from "Was this there master plan? Who couldn't resist the temptation to return the call from the mysterious, possibly attractive(?) female voice that suddenly hung up....

I had to use *69 since the caller ID is built into the satellite box near my TV, displaying the information on screen when I receive a call.

But what do you do next? Call the number back? Give them your personal information? And for what? So they don't call you back?

I know how to 'deal with these people' but isn't the National Do-Not-Call List just a big information gathering "Lock Box" that any government agency can access for any 'official' reason (read the 'terms of use' always!).
