Same for me - gentleman with an Indian accent - claimed my computer was in a security breach - I don't have a computer - SCAM

I've gotten a call from them saying i have a infected computer the guy had a Indian accent I asked him what my IP address was and he hung up

He's actually calling right now

calls from 1-253-243-1143, foreign accent, keeps calling claiming to be microsoft and i need to let them fix my CP problems
get rid of these pests who just want a credit card number to rob anyone dumb enough to give them one.

I got a call this afternoon from this number.  A couple of days ago, it was on the news that they were scammers.  If you pick up they tell you they are from Microsoft/Windows and that there is a threat/virus running on your computer and if you give them certain information on your computer they can remove it remotely.  In actuality you are giving them control of your computer and they will shut it down and ask for a "ramsom" if you want your computer up and running again.  Please be aware.

Second call, didnt ask for me by name, didnt identify themselves by name only as microsoft. Indian accent. Said i had a rogue windows downloading software. I told him my pc hasnt been used in months and he actually asked if he could know why. Total scam

I have also had multiple calls from these people...... I have taken a differnt approach which seems to amuse me. The last call I received, they made similar claims as these other posts. I generally play along and ask questions of my own. (You waste my time I waste yours.) I started by acting interested & concerned listening to her warning.

I then asked the woman if there was a window in the building she was in?    response - "yes "
What floor of the building are you on?    response - "8th"
Does the window open?    response - "Yes"
Please jump - then call me back.     response -  "Audible  CLICK "
Problem solved.....

Yes, an Indian sounding Scammer telling me about my computer and him claiming to be from Microsoft. I confronted him telling him this was obviously a scam, and MS did not have my Phone Number.  I told him I would report him to several authorities including some 3 Letter federal agencies.  Told him to F- OFF and never call again.

Same phone number from Tacoma, Washington, British or Indian accent, 253-243-1143; demanded $1,000, half of $2,000 order he insisted we made from Amazon. Said it was for jeans and boots and insisted it is an ORDER for $1,000 and that, I think, they are coming to the house.

Keeping getting calls . But i guess there is no help here . Cause from the looks of comments this must be a scam site too . Since nothing is being done . Maybe they are in it together .

Female lady told me she was calling from Microsoft and that there was an issue with my computer same as everybody else and I said I know this is a scam and I'm in report you to the police and she told me to go to hell and to do it all day and she hung up

I've been tracking these scam/robocall numbers for a while now, and I got a call from this number, (243) 243-1143 from Kent, WA.  No one on the call when I answered (which is probably common to most of us).  Interestingly, I have now received calls from this same number on July 12, Aug 13, Sept 17, Sept 24, and Nov 9 of 2014.  At least they are persistent thieves!

I have received the same call.  What I have done in the past is tell them that I am driving and it would be easier when I am at home to look at my computer and can they call me back at this number ***-***-****.  The number I give them is the number to my states attorney generals office.  I figure if they field enough of these calls then they will be more likely to find a better way to deter this type of scam.

Got the same 'your computer is sending error messages thing.' Said he was from windows. I played. He asked me to turn on my computer. I said it was on. He said he was going to show me how to find the errors, and told me to press the c t r l key. I asked what for. Doesnt the mouse control the computer? Sir, it is an accessory key. Do you see the c t r l key, zhort for control? What does this button control? I asked. Guy got frustrated and hung up. The same number called again about 2 hrs later. I answered just to play some more. They hung up right away though. I want to talk to them again, this time about hiring them to take care of my lawn.

Have received calls from this number MANY times (from at least last July; I started actually logging some of these calls).  Just got two calls from this number again.  The same thing as described above:  The guy with the strong Indian accent spouting the same old scam about the imaginary computer virus problem.  Claimed to be from Microsoft (as also mentioned by others).  To what extent is it just extreme stupidity to keep calling the same people using the same scam month after month.....?

At least the 8th time I've been called from this number since July 2013.  They tend to call in clusters of 2-3 times over a day or so.  They repeat this every couple of months. Did not answer.  Last time it was the 'computer virus' scam, but it looks like others have had different scams.  Despite challenging these people they calling the same number with the same scam.  These are persistent crooks, just not too smart.

Idiot keeps calling even though I told him last week that I was on the Do Not Call list.  He said I have something wrong with my windows (I'm assuming he means Microsoft).  First of all, Microsoft does not have my cell number.  In fact, I don't think they have any number.  Second of all, I purchased a computer two months ago so believe me, there's nothing wrong with my Windows.  What an idiot.  He won't leave me alone

Got a call from this number, didn't answer and let it go to voicemail. No msg was left. Came online to check it out and wanted to make sure others are aware that this number is still being used inappropriately.
