    Beware!
These scam artists are using "Teamviewer" remote access software to access victims' computers. The disgusting thing is that this software can be downloaded free, it bypasses your firewall and does not require any reconfiguration. Just a heads up.

They are scum and very rude ! and infact, i didnt believe a single word ! These people should be taken to court for their unwanted services ! it probably couldnt happen, but it would help people like them that have no lives :)

Been called twice now in a span of two hours.. Sounded like it came from the same moron with a heavy accent that completely doesn't make sense nor knows how to "sell" a product or whatever.. I mean they think people are really that naive to just start fiddling with their computers and giving them access.. seriously... First call, didn't do much with it and told ended the call within a minute.. Second call a few mins ago I answered and decided to have a little fun with these idiots being that I dabble in comedy... "Hey Microsoft, I've been expecting your call" to where he took a few moments to say "We're not from Microsoft we are with Windows your operating system" as I just continued and said "Ohh right but that's part of Microsoft and you'd know that if you were "part" of "Windows"....  Then he started to proceed to tell me to turn on my computer, I continued playing dumb and then acted as though I was following his orders to the point when he said "What does your screen say" to where I exclaimed "It says you are a dumb f'in idiot and you should go f yourself... hope to chat with you soon" and I clicked...  Figure why not screw with 'em if they have the time to screw with me...  Makes you feel good at the end of a long day :)  Good luck everyone

Same story as the rest... Middle eastern guy, stating that his "technical department" identified my computer as being corupt... I asked him who he was, He said "I work with Microsoft",

He asked me to speak up...I told him "no" in lower voice...

then there was a long pause...

The I asked him "WHO THE F%^& ARE YOU?"

    ...again.. long pause...

    Then they hung up...

The [***] called my house 6 times today!

I received a call on my cell phone from this number today. The gentleman on the phone had a very heavy Middle Eastern type accent. They knew my first name and stated that they showed I was a home owner and that I could qualify for a reduction in my monthly mortgage payment under some Mortgage Reduction Act from the federal government. I explained that I was at work and when the gentleman asked when would be a good time to call back I said in about 2 hours. In less than an hour my phone rang and showed the same number. I did not answer as I was at the doctor's office. They called me back 7 times back to back while I was at the doctor's and I did not answer. They called again after I left the doctor's office so I answered it. The gentleman asked me some basic information like how much was my mortgage, what was my interest rate, etc. I gave him this information (some of it bogus) and he then said he needed to transfer me to his supervisor. Another gentleman came on the line (again with a very heavy Middle Eastern type accent) and said that based on the information that I had provided I qualified for a reduction in my mortgage of 30% to 60%. He then said that their legal team would work on my behalf with my mortgage company to have my mortgage reduced. By this time I knew that something was up. So I asked if this service was free to which he replied "there is only a 1 time fee of $1099.00 to cover the legal fees involved". I asked him how I could afford that if I was having problems paying my mortgage. He did not have an answer to that. I then said I did not want to make a hasty decision so could he please mail me or email me all of the information so that I could review it and then make a decision. He stated that they did not mail anything that everything was done over the phone. Well at this point can you spell SCAM?? I then stated that I never provide ANY information such as Bank Account info, Credit Card #'s, Social Security #, etc. over the phone due to so much identity theft and fraud and the jerk hung up on me.
Please be wary if these people call you! Most Americans are struggling financially right now and would love some much needed debt relief but it seems these people are going to put you deeper in debt and not help you at all.

I have received several calls from these people on my  cell phone. The latest one was yesterday at 4 PM.  I usually don't answer these types of calls but I wanted to see who was calling & tell them not to call again. Each time there is a long lag after I say Hello before I hear anything. In each case no one answers and after a while I hear an automated female voice saying "Goodbye" before the line hangs up. I am wondering if it is an automated line to confirm if your number is valid. No one has ever talked when they call. Is this some scam to obtain information from your cell phone?

I just got two calls from this number several minutes apart, from what sounded like the same individual.

The first call, a very bad connection with a long lag, asked for the home owner, and wanted information so he could "reduce my rates".  He kept repeating his questions and finally hung up.

On the second call, he said he was from Microsoft support and that they had monitored problems with my Windows operating system computer.  When I told him I don't use windows, he very quickly hung up.

Clearly this is a scam and they are making lots of calls in the hope that a few will give them what they want.  The number is clearly being abused.  I called it back to see what it was and got a recorded messages from Jennifer Leach of the FTC who explained that this number is being used as part of a phishing scam and gave pointers to more information.

This number just called me about furthering my education, when I told them not to call me anymore the SOB started cursing and said he would call back anytime he wanted. I hung up and called me back several times.  I have registered on the DoNotCall list, but it is still happening.  Can someone tell me what to do?

I belive it is the PC scammers because we used to get called about our corrupt computers but blew them off, now we get these automated voice 'goodbye' calls several times a day. That is why i think it is the same group calling.

I received a call from this number. They called my business line, and I answered. I heard 2 beeps and I said Hello. At that time a computer generated voice said "Good Bye". I called the number back becuase that is the second time I have that type of call. When I called back, I got a recording immediately stating she was Jennifer Leach with the Federal Trade Commission.  She warns that this number has been identified in Phishing schemes. Mosty via emails, but warned people to not provide any information.

Additonally, the scams described above about people calling about infected PCs, I received one of those calls as well, from a call that was blocked, stating the same type of info. That my PC has been identifed as having malware, etc, etc, I told the guy that he had reached <my company name> and he said that he was trying to reach a residence and promptly hung up.
