Just got a call from this idiot. Same story.

I got a call from this number. An India speaking person said that I had a problem with my computer. (windows)
That it was downloading a program in the background  with stuff that I did not want and that I should go to my computer and he would help me get rid of the file.  At this point I hung up.

Just got a call from this number.  The caller ID said it's from "Fraudster".  The only message was a ROBO  "GoodBye" after a high squeak.  
I am on the Fed & the State No Call lists but these calls are coming in more than they did before I got on the lists.  Are the lists being sold?

I stupidly picked up, said Hello, heard an automated Goodbye, then they hung up. Can someone please POST here what DAMAGE they can do, if any, just by virtue of your answering the phone? (In other words, when they haven't tricked someone into giving them remore access, passwords, etc.)

Just received a call from 253-802-0308.  Had to wait for person to answer me.  A male who I could hardly understand to me my computer was download something.  Told him ok, I would take it to my computer person tomorrow and hung up.

Got a missed call today from them.  I love the fact that the caller ID flat-out states "Fraudster."

Not a thing.  You would have had to follow their instructions and do whatever they told you to do to your computer for it to have been affected.  The only real damage would be that they now know there's a real person behind that number, so they may try to call again.

Got the call in Canada from this same number at 10:30PM.

1 253 802 0308 is the number. No one answered.

But, by reading your comments I can see that I did answer to the same spammers and had let two of them lead me around my computer so I see what they want and where they will guide me. I did stop playing with them after they were saying for certain files in my PC registry that are useless and need to be deleted. Than I asked, on how many women he had trow acid, so the last one - manager :) hang-up.

They were definitely pedophiles from India.

Got three calls to my cell from this number,
so the last time
I told her I had a computer....
- asked her wait until it started....5 minutes
- asked her what to do.... told her I did not understand what she was saying ...another 5 minutes....,.
- told her I accidently stop the computer and asked her to wait until it started up again...another 5 minutes

she asked me to open ...Explorer and I asked her what was that, ....
etc... I can't find it .... etc, where should I look ...etc  ...
opp's I turned it off again....restart...  another 5 minutes

I check to see if she was still there.... and told her I was a retired and had all the time in the world to play on my computer with her ...... even though ...... I did not have an internet connection ......

.....she hanged up !                

next time ....  Don't screw with retirees.....!

Unfortunately, these low life scum are operating out of India or other foreign countries using caller ID spoofing to appear to be calling from the US.  They may also be using Internet Voice-Over-IP telephone access purchased by partners located in this country.  It is very difficult to trace where they are calling from and even harder to shut them down without serious cooperation with the authorities in the countries they are located in.  Efforts are ongoing but it is slow and these scum multiply like roaches.

No, lists are not being sold but criminals from foreign countries using automated dialers that step through each number in a given area code and exchange care nothing about US laws since they are all but untouchable by US authorities.

Received a call from 253 802 00308.  No one answers.  They hang up.  Received several calls per day.  I am on the do not call list.  Once on the list you are suppose to be on for life or when you change your telephone number.

the number is 253 802 0308.  Caller id kept timing out on me.

Just got the same exact call about a windows virus on my pc and I told them to hang up and I would call them back at the Microsoft number listed in my manual...they got pist off and hung up on me!  
I DID mention to him that I was on the DO NOT CALL registry and he insisted that it was not that...it was a real issue!  LALALALALA....

71 pages of these reports since 2010! And still nothing can be done by government to stop the feeding frenzy on fearful Americans. Sad.

My dad swore at me when he got this "Fraudster" call thinking I'd contacted "this computer guy" that prompted his call. And that is very unusual for him, although he's often an angry old cuss. I wish more users wouldn't get angry and would either play the caller a bit to waste their time, if so inclined, or just hang up and leave it be. And say a prayer that the callers will find ethical work!

I've got one of those buttons sold before the national do not call list was implemented, which gives an off-putting recorded message to cease and desist. It also spares me from talking at all, which helps keep me from getting upset at them.

I only picked up the phone to keep it from waking up my son.  The creepy person on the other end of the line refused to remove my number from their calling list and SEXUALLY HARRASSED me!!!

Told me my computer needed to be repaired.  When i asked questions, and challeged the person calling they becaume agitated and unprofessional

Just got a call from this number. Asked for someone by name (might have been my name but I wasn't sure), guy with a think accent and feedback/bad connection on the line. I told him it was a wrong number and he hung up. I live in BC, Canada and have an unlisted number. Don't know how he would have found my number or would have known my name. Glad he hung up after reading a few of the posts :)
