We get recurring phone calls up to twicw a day from these foreigners claiming my PC is sending out error messages to some server. We've had slight variations from other numbers, as well.

I had my number "sourced" for a telescam and it took 4 months and a lot of hours with the PC fraud investigation department. So if my number was out there and "you kicked " my door in you would not like the response nor your next of kin. Don't be sucked in by these people and for Ch****  sakes don't threaten to kick in some ones door in it might be some 90 year old lady who has a 12 gauge and no idea why your there.Smarten up there slick.

Ask your husband what OPSEC is and then when he tells you you might think twice about telling the world what he does for OUR military. Retired AF NCO.

They're still at it from this number.   They would do well to hold their tempers!   I told the guy - after he told me he was from Windows and was calling about the error messages from my computer - that I wasn't falling for his scam.  He got all uppity and rude - "this isn't a scam, this is serious - your computer is damaged" - yeah right brother...   I'm surprised they're still using this number.  It's now blocked on my phone.

These @ holes are using this number to dial into Canada as well.  First time was a few months ago, a pushy character with an Indian accent, but absolutely no knowledge or credibility about computers.  Claimed he was from Microsoft.  I didn't fall for it.   They still dial our number persistently, they called twice this morning a few minutes apart, got our standard message answering.  Would be nice if someone invented a pesticide for these leeches.

    wanna find them
I get calls like this multiple times a day for the past several months.  I've had their other numbers blocked but they keep getting new ones and continously call me at all hours.  I am sick and tired of it.  I've told them everything from I have a Mac to I don't have a computer.  I have contacted my local police dept and the local news station to report this scam, but nothing is being done about it.  They want your IP address so they can hack your personal info and steal it.  I think I'll buy a blow horn and blow it into my phone the next time they call.  Perhaps blowing out their eardrums will stop them from calling me.  I would just get a new number if it weren't for my business.

These people have been calling me from many numbers including from international numbers for over a year. Today (and other times this week) they called me twice from Auburn Washington and I was threatened with death and bombing my house. I called the police and was told that a police report was not possible since the NYPD has no jurisdiction on such threats from out of the metropolitan area.  I am on the Do Not Call Registry and have reported it. AT & T has begun an investigation but they need a polic report!

    Sa matter u?
I hope that there isn't anyone expecting our government to do anything to help its citizens.  Senators and Congressmen are in it for power and money not to help those who elected them.  Telecom companies are worse, they easily have technology to foil these intrusive calls and attempts at scamming us.  How hard would it be for the government to require all telephone companies to maintain a Global Block List?  It could be as simple as dialing a code, like *xxx, after you receive an unidentified call.  Just as soon as this type of call was reported by two different telephone customers, the offending number, spoofed or otherwise would be permanently blocked by all telphone providers. The problem of unwanted calls would be history...

I received a call from 253-802-0308.  Caller claimed to be from Microsoft and was calling to help with the "recent problems I have been having with my computer".  As my wife recently had virus issues with her laptop, it sounded semi-plausible.  Still, I was more than suspicious to receive a call from Microsoft without anyone having opened a problem ticket with them in the first place.  While talking to him, I googled up the phone number and realized it was a scam.  I told him I was not interested and that he was a scammer.  He then insulted me and I hung up.  The federal police (RCMP) here in Canada reported as a problem in June 2011 (see http://www.itbusiness.ca/it/client/en/home/news.asp?id=63038)

I'm beginning to understand why people suddenly go off the deep end and do something violent.  If I could meet one of the pests face to face, I think I'd smash their face in. I'm so fed up with this.  I keep putting in complaints to DNCList and it doesn't stop these calls.  I don't pick up receiver but it's the nuisance of having phone ring and thinking that maybe it could be a friend or family member. We also operate a home-based business and it could be a customer.  It could also be a call about a change in a scheduled medical appointment. I just don't know what to do any more about these calls. We don't want to get an unlisted number or change our number as we've had the same number since 1990. Always above number on display is "unknown".

I just was called by these losers, same thing- heavy middle eastern accent, barely understandable scripted spiel about my computer generating error reports and that they were contacting me to fix it. Said hackers were attacking computers in North America and Canada, if I could just turn on my computer they could help. I said I would do nothing until I verified the legitimacy of  the supposed cyber threat. With that, he then provided me with a completely different number to call to verify he was an actual employee of windows technical support. I called the number (818) 850-7774 ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME INDIVIDUAL ANSWER THE CALL! He didn't think I'd recognize his voice after I just spent 5min talking to him from the 253 area code number! I promptly hung up, only to be called 3 minutes later again from the 253#. IT WAS THE SAME GUY! He wanted to know if I had called the 818# to verify him. I asked to speak with a supervisor, was placed on hold for a bit, then another equally unintelligible man came on the line. I asked why microsoft did not simply email me notification regarding a threat. He said that they could not show up at everyone's house individually to fix the problem so they were calling. I told him that is ridiculous an email with instructions from microsoft  is much more cost effective and covers more ground. I asked for the website to "windows technical help" so I can verify before I even turned on my computer for him. He asked if I verify everything in my life. Amused, I said yes. When he then asked if he can ask me another question as a friend, I told him he was not my friend and hung up. I know, I have better things to do, I should not be baiting these losers, etc.. I now blocked the number. Feel free to call the 818# all day today people and give this guy a taste of his own medicine!

Idiots! I kept the man on the phone as long as I could because I thought the longer I spoke with him the less time he would have to call people like my grandparents who would actually fall for something like this. I let him give me all these instructions as I painted my nails... eventually I told him I have a MAC not windows and if he worked for windows how would he know I had a virus and he hung up on me.

Oh boy they have called me all day today.  I finally got to it and they started on Windows virus issues.  I asked what the name of the company was and couldn't get an answer.  The guy kept on about his script.  I said do you know that you are talking to an IT professional who works with MSFT everyday????  Dead silence and I said don't you dare hang up on me, I want your boss.  Someone else gets on and I say don't you dare hang up on me and I want the name of your company.  He hung up.  I dare them to call me again.  I bet I got scratched from their list just now.

Got this call 3 times. First time I was busy and told him to call later. 2nd time I wasn't having any of it. He asked me 5 times (each time increasingly angry) if I owned a Windows Computer. He started the call by saying he was calling from Windows and that my computer was sending error messages. I said "really? So if my Windows computer is sending you error messages, why are you asking me if I have a windows computer?" I told them to stop calling me but they called again. This time they said the same script and I said "oh really?" They said "yes". Then when I asked them how they got my phone information, they hung up on me. I called another number I found online that was supposedly related to this company- "Global ID Solutions" and got their "inbound center". Spoke with a nice guy (also middle eastern accent) and told him about the calls I've been getting. He said they only do inbound calls there, and I let him know that he should inform his management that someone else is using his company name in a fraud scam and they should get law enforcement involved. He said he was very sorry and I gave him all the info I could about the scammers. Hope that helps stop them- apparently these calls have been going on for YEARS!
