The person who called me at 2626494081 had computer call my cell phone ask me to connect this call press 9.

Wanted my birthday

calls outside of business hours

Called at 12:02pm., on a Saturday. No message left.

I had a missed call and had them ask for my number and name, that's all they got, but they were very persistent to get my birthday which I refused to give since they could not clarify who was calling.

Called for someone I know, but don't associate with. Asked how they got my number and they would not say. Said I may have been a contact person for the person an I assured them there was no way possible.

Refused to give me any information until I provided personal information like dob. Scam. Said I could back when I felt more comfortable giving personal information. Asked caller if he would give personal information to a stranger on the phone and he said, sure if they were calling about a debt.

Serious debt collectors.  Do go to court.  If you are served with process by an attorney for this group,  make sure you show up to avoid a possible default judgment.  Seem to specialize in medical billings.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
