    Hi folks,
I just got the same deal today 4/28
Male voice, gave a name (Sam?) Indian accent. Claimed he was from "cyber support"  by "Microsoft" and  Asked for me by name and then Said "we have been getting messages from your computer reporting operating errors and dangerous cookies"  Tried to get me to log in to the computer so he could " fix it remotely". I told him great, but I was not at my home at the moment, and he just hung up. Creepy. Screams "SCAM" but really creepy he knew my name/phone. I filed an FTC report.
Encourage you to file too if this happens to you.
    Good Luck!

Just got a call from this number, strong Indian accent.  He told me I have corrupt files on my computer.  When I asked how he knew this he said my computer is sending messages to microsoft.  I asked to speak to his supervisor.  He asked me why I wanted to speak to a supervisor and I said that he was telling me he wanted to take over my computer.  He said he didn't say that and that I should check it first and if there was anything wrong then they would fix it and there may be a charge.  I told him I didn't want him doing anything with my computer and that I thought this was a scam and hung up.

Verifying this nefarious company is still making calls--I have now received 3 of them.  Same experience,  heavy Indian accents, claiming that my computer is sending out error messages.  Obvious scam.  Hope they all end up in prison.

Received a telephone call from female with East Indian accent saying she was with CyberSecurity and that it was an emergency that she be allowed to access  my computer to get rid of malicious virus or I would lose all information stored on my computer.  I very politely said "you are a lying SOB" and hung up on her!  Caller ID showed 281-593-3503.

    Reporting Problem
I received a call from Albert who told me my wife had called them.  I explained to him that I do not have a wife to which he started insulting me, calling me a [***], swearing on the phone and telling me to suck on his private member.  I asked to speak with a supervisor and was connected to Damien Logan.  I reported this to him and inquired how they got my number and personal information.  Damien gave me several responses to which I explained to him were impossible and illegal.

They are calling from a type of call center, this is a scam and I believe are fishing for information.  Please continue to report this information to the link below.  They need to be stopped and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

My brother got this call saying they believed that he had unlicensed software on his computer. They wanted to scan his hard drive for it. He followed their directions and gave them access to his computer. They downloaded a program that locked up his computer and they said it would cost $200 for a "license" to make the computer operable again. It took a local technician several hours to isolate and remove their software. Be very wary of who you give control of your computer to.

Never ever give control to someone who cold calls! This is a scam.  He should also change any and all passwords everyplace along with placing fraud alerts with bank and credit  just in case.  They could have also stolen any and all info on his computer.

The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!
