Call came in on our home landline. Caller ID says "Houston TX." We don't answer random calls like that. Voicemail picked up but no message.

This number calls everyday at least 3 times a day. They say they are Ultran Financial Services trying to collect a debt. If I don't pay them they will be sending court papers and law enforcement? Huh?

This call constantly is calling ..please take their number off my phone

Second time they've called in a week. Last time was a different number.

I received a call from this number, 281-901-6991 (Houston, TX) called asking if this was the *** residence? I asked what the call was in regards to. She asked me if I knew a Kate Dailey? I asked why she is calling and trying to confirm my residence, but completely ask for a different person. She said sorry to bother you and hung up. I'm not letting them catch me saying "yes" so they can record me, and [***] me over.

CID comes up HOUSTON TX. They call our home number and hang up when voice mail answers.

When I answer this number they immediately hang up, and when I call them back I get an automated message telling me to please hold one of their representatives will be with me shortly.

Obviously you didn't read the above msgs. They are SCAM debt collectors! People do not owe them money! The rule regarding debt collectors and the Do Not Call List only applies if you actually owe them money.

Doesn't matter if they are legit or not, you cannot file a TCPA violation complaint or lawsuit for an illegal sales call against a debt collector, scammer or not. You can file complaints and a lawsuit for an FDCPA violation however.

This individual called me looking for my brother to discuss a business matter.  I did not disclose any information and asked for a number to call him.  My brother said he has blocked at least SIX numbers from this company and he does not have any outstanding debts he has no idea why they are calling.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

This number keeps calling my number..and I do not know a Rhonda Black..who this number questioned me about..I told them I knew that she was my ex husbands ex wife...the last I knew of her..she lived at Corinth..but I don't know her.then they called again..when my husband was home so he said I don't know her..

For Internet Posting "WARNING" - 281-901-6991 Called on 07/14/2017 at 10:34 AM, Caller I.D.  shows as "Unknown Name".  Turns out to be United Recovery Systems, a Scam Con Artist  Debt collector with multiple numbers -  I didn't answer,  as my Phone System "Auto Answered", Recorded the "Information" and "Trashed" the Call.

We are a bank and there calling here for all kinds of people...

This is one of the Alltran/United Recovery that have been calling my mothers number for at least a month. Thankfully all of their calls have been automatically blocked. I suspect this is in connection a next door neighbor.

Called twice this morning. My phone screening tool said debt collector. Left message saying they WERE calling to collect debt and to call a different number back.

I got a call. They left no message. It seems like we know who they are. I've had the same number for 20 years. I get many of these calls. I've been debt and credit card free for 25 years.  I went onto AutoZone and made a purchase. When I looked at the reward screen they had 5 other people with my number. The clerk said they never purge the records. Either the other 5 lied about their number or they have been there more than 20 years. So, they may not be calling you, just someone with your number. I have a contact on my phone named ZZZ. I save all of the spam numbers there. I set the ringtone to none. Then I block calls and texts. Don't respond to any texts from spammers or political pollsters.  A response constitutes a relationship. They'll keep bugging you and sell your number.

Just rec'd a call from this number. I pushed my speaker button and said nothing, room was silent, a live person was on the other in, female, saying hello 3x and hung up. Now that I know who it is I have a gift for them if they call, and they will, back.

Seems scammers are using real old numbers lately. Added to my blocked list.
