Got a roto call at 0800 - woke me up! I pressed the button that I was NOT the person they were calling for and I did NOT want further calls. I hung up and ....a live person called. Told her to put my number on the DO NOT CALL list. Doubt it will help but.....we'll see.

Didn't answer but listened to voicemail. Played an entire love song from the sixties. "Sea of Love". Don't know anyone in Texas in love with me so thought it was a wrong number. Good thing I looked them up before I called back to tell them the mistake. Real creepie.

Number called my job site asking for my boss. i truthfully told the woman the boss wasn't in and offered to take a message. She left a callback number of 866-582-4085 extension 9430. I'll be making a post for that number as well. Now that i know who this is, I'll safely ignore it.

Woman asked for someone and I told her I didn't have that person on my switchboard. She asked if I had everyone in the company on my switchboard or just the ones in the office. Honestly she was the first one to get past that wording. Kind of impressed.

Just because you were irresponsible with your debts doesn't mean that everyone else is. I receive calls from United Recovery Systems all the time, and they're looking either for my brother-in-law or my brother, who both have bad debts while my credit is spotless. These bottom feeders call anyone associated with the debtor, including neighbors, friends, and family members. The only way to get rid of them is to pay for a registered cease-and-desist letter, because if you tell them to quit calling that never works. You may deserve to be hounded by these agencies, but I certainly don't.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

They called my home number today which I never use and since it was just a phone number with Houston, TX on the caller ID I answered because my best friend lives in Houston and I didn't want to miss her call if it was her from another number.  So I answered and a guy asked for my daughters Mother in Law who has never lived here.  Since she is responsible for so much heartache with our side of the family I gladly gave them all of the info I had for her. Let them harass her for a while!

You know it is illegal for them to give that information to anyone other than you?  They also must stop calling you at work if you tell them to. You can actually sue for use of those kind of tactics

The search engine that I use shows it as "United Recovery," a collection agency.  They called several times under various numbers, but never leave a message.  Evidently, United Recovery has these numbers:

713-458-3418 (Caller ID said “United Recovery”)

281-901-6991 (called 2 more times the next day.  Caller ID stated “Houston, TX” 1st time; “NovoLeakTest” 2nd time).

281-819-4037 (called once 5 days later.  Caller ID stated “NovoLeakTest” which links it to the 281-901-6991 number above)

I pay all of my bills on time and have no outstanding debt.  They may be trying to get info about someone.  I put these numbers on call block.
