- swollsJust got the same text regarding my AMEX account. stopped just short of calling it when my wife suspected a scam.
- once again.SCAM written all over. I never reply to any text or email I receive from any of my credit cards or bank telling me there's an issue with my account.... . ANYONE, EVERYONE SHOULD CALL THE CARD IN QUESTION AT THE NUMBER YOU USUALLY CALL THEM AND VERIFY IF THERE'S AN ISSUE. NEVER REPLY TO ANY OF THE LINKS OR NUMBER SENT TO YOU TO CALL BACK. NEVER.
I've received two text messages in the past 4 days to call different numbers for my visa and my amex... same scam. - flosterGot a text from 9099 that stated "customer issue, american express service frozen. please call at 303 325 7300."
I figured this was a scam since I received a similar text a few days ago. I can only imagine this will get worse as the holidays near.
I always check strange numbers online before calling now. What has this world come to? - CaroleI got a txt message on my Sprint phone on 12/8 saying 'customer issue, visa service frozen. please call at 313 843 9546' I ignored it (who says call at and provides a charge phone number??) Ironically it turns out my Visa provider called me the next day to verify some purchases -- which weren't mine!! So today, 12/12, I get a message saying 'customer issue, american express service frozen. please call at 303 325 7300' I called Amex's 888 number. Nope-not from them, and pfew, account is ok.
- DivaDI received text: "customer issue, american express service frozen, please call at 303-325-7300" with a 9099 at the top.
Naturally, this does not correspond to any card I have and the telephone number just keeps asking for a sixteen digit card number. This is a scam apparently and my card is not frozen. This is the second text message like this in the last three days, however, the last text message it did not even say WHICH card it was for. The telephone number goes to a land line with Provider: Icg Telecom Group in Denver, CO -- Not attached to American Express seemingly.- Caller: Icg Telecom Group in Denver, CO

Are they selling are numbers?
- Nawlins chefI have been getting the same text several times a week and it IS Harassment!!!!! I know I do not have a credit card with them so I called the number and there is no way to proceed without entering a valid credit card number. Very annoying!!
The text came from 9099 and says to call (303)325-7300
I just got off the phone with Sprint tech support and they say it is now blocked from texting me again.
So if you get this text just call Sprint tech support right off and have it blocked.- Caller: Jefferson Financial

- usa504laI have Sprint too & I got a 9099 text message today, like the one above, saying jefferson credit union account frozen, etc. It said to call 303 325 7300.
Yesterday I got the same message with a different number to call, 786 425 0042.
Does anyone know if they hack into your contact list? I think I might contact them & warn them too.
Thanks for posting this; I was suspicious because I don't have an account with the credit union mentioned.- Caller: Unknown
- beaucJust received same "service frozen" text. When I went to retrieve it from the "Recent Calls" file it was gone.

- dfureDec 13 2009 recieved call from 303 325 7300 stating this number was from West Coast Federal Credit Union Service. Called number and it asked to enter my credit card number. I did not do that. I tried consistantly to reach an operator and the message kept repeating to enter my credit card number. I KNEW THEN THIS WAS A SCAM.

There is a West Coast Federal Credit Union (fairly new, www.westcoastfcu.org)
There is NOT a Florida West Coast Federal Credit Union

- bradjust got a text from the same #. i know not to call or text back. i just forwarded it to abuse@messaging.sprintpcs.com
no financial institution would send a text like that anyways. i forwarded this to the attorney general of colorado, and the FTC - no wool over my eyes replies to peterpanI agree...this scam seems to be targeting sprint and also nextel phone #'s (at least in my in my instance,) with the area code (727) and prefix 919. At first I thought my identity or Sprint (only) account was hacked when both my wife and I recieved multiple messages today (12-13-09), but my unrelated work nextel which also has the 919 prefix has also gotten multiple sms messages as well. I called Sprint and Nextel and had them block SMS and Texts from the current "9099" which sent them...deleting the sms or text will not sign you up for any subscriptions...
The first clue that this is a scam should be the fact that you do not have an account with the fictitious West Florida Credit Union....DUH!!!!
