NO ONE answers

we have had 5 calls today with the same outcome - dead when picked up.  That is sooooooo very annoying and a waste of my time, let alone tying up our business line

I get the same thing. It is not in service but it called my #.

Received a call from this number at 4:43 P.M. on August 10.  I didn't recognize the number, so I didn't pick up.  My phone stores all incoming calls, so I attempted to call it back.  I got a busy signal.  At the time I thought it might be a roofing or repair company, since we've had a bad hail storm this summer.

Sorry to tell you that "apparently not".  All we can do is research the callers in websites such as this one, use blocking equipment (mine only has the capacity of 250 numbers) and never answer the phone ever again unless you are positive you know the caller from caller ID. I cannot answer my phone nor my door. The telemarketers and door to door sellers have become so aggressive I'm loosing friends "You never answer your phone" ...."your door".   People have given up because most are too lazy to leave voice mail or to call before they just show up.  People don't understand that it's dangerous for a single female to answer the door when  her entrance, front and back and windows are  less than 7' from a city sidewalk.  Ah, another telemarketer calls....

Same as it ever was.

That's when it really sucks to not be able to answer the phone. I have so much going on from property damage to health insurance changes , repairs and insurance claims, and no one ever wants to leave a voice mail with information so we play phone tag because if I do answer the phone, it's a telemarketer taking up time and preventing important calls from getting thru. If I don't answer the phone I miss the call I was expecting.  Thanks, FCC, for protecting your citizens.

For the love of [fill in appropriate deity here], these %*#$@*!#@& called our landline on 8 August 2015 at 0447 CDT, woke us up, and scared the bejeebus out of us because we were concerned it was some kind of family/friend emergency.
Luckily (?) for us, we didn't get to the phone before the answering machine picked up (I've got it set to answer after six rings to weed out the robocallers who hang up after four rings, and we don't keep a phone in the bedroom), and (of course), the %*#$@*!#@& didn't leave a message.
Grrrrrrr...

I hear you, BostonHolly. While I'm not single, I work from home (alone) while the Man works in an office. I've been incredibly fortunate to date (knock on wood) that I haven't felt threatened by anyone at my front door, but I also VERY RARELY answer my front door. I've told my friends that I usually don't answer the door, so if they want to stop by, they need to call/text first.

Leaves no message.  Repeat calls.  We are on the DNC list.  This does not seem to have much affect anymore!

This number has called and someone holds the line for a few seconds and then hangs up, This is a place of business that is very busy and we do not need unwanted calls.

Call received 2:41 Eastern Time.
Called back and got a rapid busy signal.

If you have selective call forwarding you can forward calls from this number to any of the other telemarketer numbers.  Let them bother each other.

This number has called me several times. I am older and don't move that fast so it is irritating to get to the phone, answer it and there is no one there. It is just rude! I called the number a few times and a message says something about receiving a high volume of calls and hangs up
