CID says SPLC. (Southern Poverty Law Center)? Probably a ‘spoofed’ number. Now blocked.

An obvious sales call center.  This time they are trying to sell chemicals to put into your septic system -- "to eliminate the need to have it pumped out -- and also to keep the septic system healthy".  "a revolutionary new product".  Whatever.

They call my cell phone at least once a day for the past 2 weeks. They never leave a message, but let the call go to voicemail where I can hear noise & some talking in the background. I have never answered any of their calls & have blacklisted the number on my cell phone. You'd think after calling 13 or 14 times & getting voicemail each time, they'd quit calling! Caller ID only shows the phone number.

Unsolicited and unwanted telemarketing, whether it is a scam or legitimate, is a form of harassment, which even a little is infringing on my rights. Especially if I've told them not to call me. That does make it a crime no matter how small a one.

While that may be true, the ability to stop the calls is now squarely in your hands.  You have the name of the call center.  A certified, return receipt letter telling them to not call you anymore for any reason or for any campaign they might be running should do it.  That legally puts them on notice to stop calling you in a manner they can't wiggle out of.  It also means that you then have the proof to sue them if they keep calling after that and to collect at least $500 per phone call.

You can buy a telephone that allows you to list 150 or more phone numbers and/or area codes to block.  If a call is from an area code where I don't know anyone I just don't answer and I block the area code ir phone number.  Once I put anyone's phone number on a list my phone announces who it is so I don't bother to get out of the shower or get off the couch unless i want too...and then I block the phone number when/if I want to. I also turn off the answering macine when I am home or do not want to take calls. The phone rings only once if it is an unwanted caller on my list...or can block it with no ring for me to hear.  lots if call blocking equipment out there.

BigA....it will not work if they are calling from another country...scam...often using fake phone number.  They even faked the local department's phone number to call and ask for donations for the police department.  They called using police department's phone numbers in at least 3 counties that I know of.  The police and sheriff's department NEVER makes phone calls asking for donations..it is a way to get your credit card number.  If the police or sheriff's department asks for money they do it through the mail and only within their own district....not calling form an area code or city different than the one you live in.  It is always best to go to the police/sheriff's department personally if you want to make a donation.  This 310-693-2915 scam might not be calling from within the USA...regardless where they are calling from...block them.

Get a gadget to block phone calls from getting through...without a ring.  My phone will ring once unless I program it to just block it quietly.

The best way on my home phone is to turn off the answering machine and block the phone number.  Then the robo caller that I got called just about every hour during the day for a few days and then gave up...no more calls.
