I just purchased a new toyota, they called me b/c the dealer who I financed with gave them my number to do a simple survey on how my experience was.  Likely you have purchased something and they just want to know your experience.  FYI - you gave your number to someone like the place you financed something with.

The number has called me 3 times for the past 4 days, I don't answer calls I don't know so I never answer and they never leave a mes. Has anyone got them to stop?

this number keeps calling me every night at the same time for four nights now,  and doesn't leave a message. I never pick up numbers I don't know. what is it???

Everyone who has gotten a call from Synovate:

Synovate is a research market company.  They deal with surveys, opinions, etc.  They do have a website where you can also participate in their surveys online.

Why am I telling you all this?

Well for one, they are NOT telemarketers, etc.  They are not trying to sell you something.  They are in the same business as Neilson (the TV survey company).  Secondly, Synovate has a policy of contacting only people who have "Authorized Synovate to contact them or wish to participate in surveys."  Synovate is following the laws and doing their job.

If you feel being on Synovate's call list is in err, contact all of your banks, people you've done business with, etc, they probably are using Synovate to survey their customers or sold your information to them.  Also, double-check to make sure you didn't agree to or sign-up somewhere to take part in a survey from Synovate.  Also, ALWAYS read the fine print for EVERYTHING you sign-up for on the internet or when you hand out your phone number.  Most companies state that they will contact you and survey you if you provide your number.

I personally signed-up to take surveys for Synovate.  Via their website, you can get paid for taking their surveys (just like the good old days of taking surveys from the market research people at the mall).  This is why I know so much about them.

This is a company that tries to get you to buy into their "we have a buyer for your vehicle" gimmick. DONT FALL FOR IT. They are calling you because you recently listed a vehicle for sale or inquired about a vehicle for sale. They will continue to bother you until the vehicle you have listed is no longer listed with whoever you listed it with.

I started getting these as soon as I started getting my car serviced at a particular dealership in my area. Like a lot of people here, I don't like getting calls from people who don't leave messages and won't ever call back a number that I am not familiar with.

This particular company, however, IS persistent. It's just a survey. It will help the company that you are doing business with. We all want better service. It's only a few minutes of your life. If you don't want calls after 900pm or whatever time you happen to be complaining about, turn your ringer off. Or, follow the many responses prior to this and ask to be taken off the list or call the business you are doing business with that precipitated the calls and get their assistance.

This is not rocket science folks. All the whining in the world isn't going to stop the calls. Action will..or how about just taking the survey and improve your customer service experience.

I have been getting calls from 310-862-9008, and when someone comes on the line, I have told them to stop calling my number which only gave them another reason it seems to call me as they know they have reached a live body who responds, so I called the North Carolina Do not call national registry and registered my cell numbers and home numbers with the National registry.  I looked up the area code in my home phone book and it is in Kernersville, North Carolina.  I have to be registered for 31 days before I can register a complaint, so just give me until May 4 2008, and we will see if the State Attorny General will live up to his word of giving me back my phone for my own personal use.  Right now is a good time to test the Attorney General, as he is running for Governor or North Carolina.

You MUST not be the brightest bulb in the pack!!!  We have telephones for our convenience, not theirs!!!  We shold NEVER have to turn our ringers off, mainly because it could possibly be an emergency call from a family member or friend.  Get real.  They are the ones interrupting our lives and breaking the law by calling after 9pm.  They are cutthroat piranhas who shold just follow the laws that govern us.

I went to Friendly Ford yesterday and got my truck after having a/c installed. Today, I get home and a message was on my machine saying their name and mentioned Friendly Ford and wanted to ask a few questions about my last visit there. Said they would call back. I hope they do call back cuz I have major issues with what happened. In fact so much that I am contacting the CEO of Ford Motors. The number on my caller ID was: 310-862-9008

Update:
They called back today and I was happy to take the survey. I could leave a voice message for the place I went to if I wanted to and the people I talked to would make sure they got it at Friendly Ford. On a 0 to 10 scale and 10 being best rating on them, I gave them 0 on all questions asked to me. See, sometimes these calls we get are good. At least it gave me the chance to bost my opinion. Now onto the people higher up on the ladder at Ford. :-)

www.donotcall.gov, this is tne national do not call list, add your home or cell number to this and if they call you can report them to the website.

I get these calls after my vehicle has been in for service at Towbin Infiniti.  I generally don't pick up.  It's no big deal.  

All the complaints about the do not call list don't mean a thing if the call is related to a company you already do business with.  If you have a business relationship with a company, they can call you.  PLUS, as has been noted before, market research and customer surveys are not subject to the rules about the do-not-call list.

So, the number is traceable to a legit market research company.  It's no big deal.

Now, the calls with the Spanish language recordings (me no habla espanol) and the calls with a caller ID of 000-000-0000... Those bug me.

Hung up when I answered the call. We'll see if their own Do Not Call list works!

Read the posts above, and every one of you asking what to do could at the very least take some action!!

I just got off the phone having my number removed, we'll see if it sticks.
