I just got a call now from same number saying she is doing a survey of the health environment here in California. Her tone is nasty but I let her proceeded so her next question was where I am located. As soon as I said where I was, I realized this could be a prey looking for a victim. So, I apologize and said I cannot go on as I don't know your number. Then I hang up. She sounds convincing one of those government employees or postal employees who is not so friendly. That alone is a no no for me.

Caller claimed that he is from the Health Department and wants to conduct a survey and send me $ 10 after it's completed. Obviously a scam.

I got a call from this number on Thursday...just got another call today (2 days later)...no left messages or anything

I answered all the questions they asked and then they asked for my name and address. I gave them my full name but then hung up. Who. The hell. Are they!!

dee, you are right...swear a blue streak at these people is the only way to get them to stop...every single time

I am sure they have never heard those words before and will be totally shocked and suffer mental breakdowns.  By the way, "Dee" posted here in 2013, so I doubt she will see your reply, plus, she and now it looks like you have never read what the DNC covers and does not cover, otherwise you would have known that as long as a survey does not lead into a sales pitch it is legal.

Said they were from Los Angeles county health department, from a 312 area coast out of Chicago, got a call the other day from a scammer that was 312, he got mad at me for calling him out as a scammer when I told him to [***]

Someone called my cell today and another person called my home phone yesterday with thes statement that they were with the NJ Dept of Health...Fishy since they called from another state. I hung up.  I am still worried about this caller

They have called my granddaughters phone numerous times. Never leaves a message. Can’t call them back to get our number removed. Can’t leave a message for them to quit calling. This is a child’s phone number. They call at least twice daily. Sick of being hassled

Got a call while driving. Said he’s calling from California Dept of Health Services.  From a Chicago number?  At 7pm PST?  Said he was not allowed to take a survey while I was driving.  Told him to call back tomorrow.  Number blocked.

Have been getting calls from this number. Have got it several times now. I always pick up but no one speaks anything! Finally I thought to search about this number and landed on this page! This number shows its location as Chicago, IL.

My call said it was from the Georgia DOH. I guess they select the state based on where you are.

He called me yesterday and just seconds ago I just blocked them. That's the best bet for everyone to do.

Also received this call, but did not answer as it was from Chicago and I'm in another state. However, I did answer a similar call from a phone number with a local area code that began the same way as reported - the caller is from the Department of Health and conducting a survey about my health. I was driving at the time and the caller indicated that for safety purposes, they could not conduct the survey at this time and would call back at a later time. I did some of my own research on Pew survey calls. It's honestly difficult to determine how legitimate the survey calls are and Pew Research recognizes that their calls are frequently met with skepticism (i.e., is it data mining for identity theft). My opinion, better to be safe than sorry. So, not answering the call or questions.

I’m 17 and this number called me, im in California, I was at work so I didn’t answer, looking here to check if I should call back, seems like a huge nope. It says unknown but when I click info it shows the number and says Chicago, Illinois.

Claimed to be Los Angeles Public Health services (my area code is LA) and she said they would give me $10 giftcard for participating in a survey. I said first off your number is showing Chicago, Illinois and no I’m not interested. Lady said well we are working on there behalf and we are actually calling from Texas. I said well take my number off your list and she talked over me and said no worries we’ll try and call again. So I blocked the number on my iPhone as it’s mostly liked a scam to get my address and never send the giftcard.

Calls every day. I answered once. She says she is with the Georgia Department of Agriculture. I asked her why she has a Chicago number then. Hung up and blocked. Still trying to call me after 3 days.
