- Jonny| 14 repliesI just got called by "The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene" who wanted to ask me some health questions and perform a survey that I was elected at random via my telephone number, calling from 312-529-9717, which my phone and the internet is reporting this is a number based in Chicago. He tried to tell me he's in Maryland and it was a Maryland number.

- Sean| 1 replyGot a call. No message left
- Dee| 4 repliesSome type of mental survey. He said my number picked randomly, but I don't believe it. I am on the no call list and told him, its his job to find numbers that are on no call list and quit picking random numbers. This is the 2nd call after hours also. If everyone would curse and these boiler room solicitors, this would stop. Also I may write the attorney general for Chicago and give them the details.

- Kelley| 1 replyI answered and he talked so fast I wasn't quite sure what kind of survey but he said it would take less than 30 seconds and asked about 5 questions:

2) Am I a home-owner?
3) What religion would I associate myself with (protestant, roman catholic, muslim, atheist, ect)
4) Something about do I have a Jewish background?
5) or if I had any family members who are Jewish?- Caller: 312-529-9717

- Mike| 3 repliesI just got called by "The New Jersey Department of Health and Mental Hygiene" who wanted to ask me some health questions and perform a survey that I was elected at random via my telephone number, calling from 312-529-9717. He got mad when I told him I don't answer personal questions from unknown callers.

- Hope| 14 repliesReceived a call from this number today. Pleasant young woman said she was conducting a survey for "Pure Research" and she realized she called a cell phone number so if I was driving, she would call me back. She asked if I was over 18, how would I rate the city I live in, my ethnicity, what religion I identified with, was I Jewish, partially Jewish, raised in a Jewish family, or by a Jewish parent. Then she asked my highest level of education, actual age, if I was a home owner, my zip code, did I have a phone installed in my home, or how many working cell phones I had, and then she wished me a good night. So I said, "Wait a minute. What is this information for?" That stumped her. She asked me to wait a minute and she would tell me. I heard papers shuffling and then she read the script reading that Pure Research surveys people in this country and internationally and the info would be used for various news agencies and the like. This one particular survey was researching the experiences of Jews in various communities. She agreed she would be curious too if someone called her asking these questions. Sure hope they aren't counting on my answers as fact; I pretty much BS'd the whole thing...I can just imagine what conspiracy theorists think of this one!

- BobPerson said they were calling from Pew and needed four minutes for short survey. They were calling on my cell. I asked them how they got my number and she said, "random selection". She knew she was calling my cell and I asked her how she knew that. It became apparent that this is a call center with poorly educated and not very well spoken people who are easily confused by simple questions. I hung up.

- James TownsendI've gotten calls on my cell phone from this number four times in four days (twice on 4/10/2013, once on 4/12/2013, and once 4/14/2013). I've never answered it, but calling back this number gives a busy signal. My cell number is not on a do-not-call registry.
- Call ScreenerAll it says is Chicago.
I should feel special, a whole city is calling me.
And a big city at that!
Maybe next time I should answer it!
And it seems to be really important too!
Received calls from this number that never leaves a message.
A call center calling on a Sunday, hmm? Must be some damn important survey?

- Furloughed Gov't WorkerNever answered my cell phone since I am prohibited from responding to calls on my government issued phone while on furlough. Saw number and checked after reporting back for duty. These Bozos just wasted more Gov't time.

- MinnieAsked for me by name. Started to ask questions. I asked "is this a survey?" She said, "yes." I said, "I don't answer surveys." She said, "may I ask why?" I said, "no reason, it's just my policy." She hung up.
