Number called and said I've been selected out of a list to claim a Cruise with Royal Caribbean. Press 1 to speak to someone about this offer. Press 2 to decline and to be put on our no call list.  

This number called at 1815 on 13Mar.

The FCC has temporarily halted 7 minor unprofitable boiler rooms who will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days. At the height of this telephone debacle it's been said that each call center was making 27 calls a second, which is a whopping 2.4 million calls in a single day.  
The criminals behind this operation aren't going to pay attention to you asking to be removed from their list. Their calls cost them almost nothing and they make millions of them so they have no intention of ever removing someone. When you press a key to talk to them all that is accomplished is to verify that they have a working number.  These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet.
Unfortunately blowing an air horn or whistle doesn't work either. Their headset have noise dampeners plus they are expecting it. However with that said if it makes you feel better then by all means give it a shot.

Why hasn't the FBI used the RICO act and gone after these organizations? On October 15, 1970, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (18 U.S.C. §§ 1961–1968), commonly referred to as the 'RICO Act', became United States law. The RICO Act allowed law enforcement to charge a person or group of people with racketeering, defined as committing multiple violations of certain varieties within a ten-year period. The purpose of the RICO Act was stated as 'the elimination of the infiltration of organized crime and racketeering into legitimate organizations operating in interstate commerce'. S.Rep. No. 617, 91st Cong., 1st Sess. 76 (1968). However, the statute is sufficiently broad to encompass illegal activities relating to any enterprise affecting interstate or foreign commerce.

Robocalls are illegal unless you have given them prior permission in writing (not worded into some small print contract from a 3rd party) and are absolutely illegal to a cell phone.  The Telephone Consumer Protection Act permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state courts where they may be awarded up to $1500 for each violation.

This is an all out attack from these scum sucking filthy pigs! EVERYONE should be reporting them everywhere that they can. Since this is an obvious attempt at identity theft and is interstate, the FBI should be forced to get involved. Charge them with a CRIMINAL offense and throw them in prison instead of the FCC saying 'Naughty - naughty, now go out and play nice'. (Prosecute them in criminal court instead of civil penalties).

Just got called out of the blue on a cellphone that's on Do Not Call list.  I didn't answer and they hung up before it went to voice mail.

I used to get tons of scam calls to this number, but they stopped a few months back.  I hope they aren't starting up again.


BYW, all those press 1 to speak to someone, press 2 to be removed calls are scams.

Answered this call on my cell phone. They said I entered a contest and won a cruise for 2-16 people to the Caribbean or Mexico. They claimed it included airfare and just had to pay the $98 tax. Yeah....so I said send me the info in the mail since they claimed I entered said contest and I was told I have to reserve this today. Well, I'm not a sucker so I asked can I either call back or get this sent to me, and I was hung up on.

Called my cell phone!  Two minutes later another call from good old Rachel!

This number has called me 5 times this week.  It is a pre-recorded message that states "Please don't hang up. This is Discover Account Services calling with important information..." The recording tells me to press 1 to be connected with an agent who will lower my interest rates on all of my credit cards.

They keep calling my cell, but never say anything when I answer.  I have only given my cell number to a very few select people so I know they are using random calling which just dials numbers randomly.

This number calls my cell phone every day, along with other random numbers with different area codes. I just answer but don't actually pick up the phone. They are always recorded messages about credit cards. So frustrating and want to know how to get it to stop.

Don't know if this will work, but my printer has a FAX function, so now, when I get a robo-call and I don't recognize the number, I push "accept FAX" on the printer and maybe their computer will take me off their list...Worth a shot, anyway!

scam, nobody answered

yep nobody ever answers when i answer the phone dead air. i call back and it gives me the tone of dialing a wrong number they have been calling for months and i cant get ahold of anyone to tell them to quit calling

Got a call from this number. It stopped ringing before I could pick it up.  They didn't leave a message.  Get a call like this about once a day.

This is very annoying ... anyone know how to report these numbers?

I've been registered on the Do-Not-Call list for YEARS and NEVER before this had a problem.
So a short time ago AT&T got the go ahead to sell their customers' information. Shortly thereafter, AT&T came out with their 'number blocking' feature for like $4.99/month.
Since that feature has been available I've started to get these random calls from random numbers that are either hang-ups or from "Account Services"

I bet most of you are probably having the same issue because of this as well.

I pay for a monthly subscription to have my information removed from the internet completely. So there is NO OTHER company capable of this.

I registered all three of my phone with the do not call regristry, but am still getting calls.  However, they have slowed down.  Got a call today and no one on the other end answered.  I told them that if they didn't answer,or kept calling, I was going to get a whistle and do like my grandmother did back in the day and blow it in their ear.  One would think that the authorities could do something about these annoying calls.
