I expect this number really is Cigna's. If so, I'm pretty sure their goal is to cut their insurance expenses by improving patient management of chronic illnesses. They were very interested a year or so ago in having a nurse talk to me about managing an illness they thought I had as a result of a borderline diagnosis, though fortunately I was able to make some changes to avoid it (thus far, anyway.)

It's a bit of a Catch-22, in that HIPPA rules don't allow them to discuss your health issues with anyone other than you. So at the same time you are wanting them to prove they are who they claim to be, they want you to prove you are who you claim to be.

This time we missed the call, but one of us did recently see a doctor about a chronic illness, so I expect that's why they called. That said, it likely is best to have them send something in the mail before providing any private information over the phone.

Received a call today. But did'nt leave a message.

I received a call from 314-819-1850 to my cell phone.  No one on the line, no message.  Very annoying.

This is from Cigna about their mail pharmacy.

Just call them back at 877 888 3091.  Tell them that there is no one by that name at the number they are calling.  They will note the account and stop.

It is Cigna.  They want people who have any type of recurring prescription to use their prescription by mail service because it, "save you money" <----READ, it saves THEM more money.  They relentlessly call even when you have said you aren't interested in their service.  

I wish I new how to make them STOP calling.  They have called me as early as 8:01am (while I was on vacation). ANNOYING!!!!!

WHY is it  companies and  Individua;s  feel they have  any  RIGHT  to harrass me  or anyone else?  IF  CIgna contracts this  company to  Harrass me Imagine  how  they will feel when i walk into  corporate  Cigna  and  take out  150 or 200  asswhipes  with automatic  weapons

For all you fools who refuse to verify DOB , it's federal law that they protect your information and you cam only unlock it using PHI verification.  DOB.   Full address etc.   So your worried about your safety (you DOB is public record) and that's why they ask for info.  Federal law

I have received several phone calls from the area code and number.I never answer the phone,and I at the
point where I'm afraid to answer. This began in August and I reported the number to my phone carrier and a phone company that blocks calls coming from prison inmates. So, why is my number not on the block list as I signed up for non-soliciting junk mail.

I get calls several times a week from this number.  It is from Cigna; I know because I answered once, annoyingly, and they wanted to talk.  I said I couldn't and could I call back?  Yes I could, they gave me a toll free number to call them back and I haven't.  It will continue until you talk to them.

I totally agree. I have received these calls on 2 occasions,and feel it's very intrusive. My care is between me and my Dr. ...How obvious that I got a call 2 days after receiving care for a lower back issue? The "nurse" asked lots of questions about medications. She even asked if I skipped doses,and if I ever felt guilty about taking narcotics. (No,I am not an addict,and don't Dr. shop).
I was polite in telling them that I am not comfortable with these calls,and don't want them. I'd rather have them be honest,and tell me that their job is to keep us out of the Dr's office.  I know they're just doing what they get paid to do, and are reading "off script" but I won't talk with them ever again.

Why don't you hippies call Cigna and ask them?

They call every night at 7-7:29 p.m. M-F. It's very annoying! We gotta stop what we're doing and answer.!

I have insurance with Cigna so I called the 800 number. The person I spoke with called the number and said it was part of Cigna but they operate on their own. They claim they never ask for a birthdate or SS # But they say they would remove my name from their call list and send me an email confirming this. I would suggest you do the same.

This is CIGNA Insurance.  The nurses call if you are enrolled in their health insurance.  If you have an specific illness (I have Diabetes), they will call to see if you are ok, if you have any concerns, or if they can help you with anything.  They have been calling me for years.  You can opt out and not receive the phones.  This not a scam.  They ask for your DOB so they know it's you.  Your DOB is public information.  They are not asking for you SS#, so relax.

This is a health insurance contractor.  If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or the like, this company contacts you periodically to see if you are following the guidelines so that you don't have to pay more than a promised amount (often times an amount below your co-pay - i.e. some diabetes prescriptions are free).  If you do not answer or do not get back with them, they disenroll you and you have to pay your co-pay or higher.  DOB info is public record.  Bank account info is not...don't be paranoid, be smart.  You should know what information should or should not be part of public record.

In my opinion-- these calls are a feeble and irritating attempt to monitor Cigna policy holders.  It is one thing to call WellAware if you have a question, but quite invasive the other way around -- (when they call just to chat).   We pay $ for the insurance and  don't have to accept this "fringe benefit." Corporate "Big Brother" is watching .... We already get frequent Cigna junk mail.    If I feel under the weather.  I'll call my doctor, thank you.

The number belongs to CIGNA, as other reporters have indicated.  Nothing more than an annoyance call.
