- Kristy Kaluzaphone number 315-636-0795, scam, Called saying I was issued a government grant, I along with 17,000 other people were chosen because we had no bankruptcies, were in the right income brackett, and had good credit. All I had to do was send $259 thru Money Gram at Walmart and they would have me call them back and get the code so I could get my grant. You can tell these people are from Pakistan or India or somewhere over there and obviously they are in our country doing this, so I say let's let all the immigrants in that want to sit on their behinds and steal our money, by giving us false hopes. I was not fooled but this can be a problem for older people and people who do not have much and could truly use a grant. How hard would it be to catch the people doing this when all the cell phones today have GPS?
- Caller: U S Government?
- Lara replies to drew hesseI had the exact same thing happen to me they called my work phone saying I was selected out of a very few in the united states... they also called my boyfriends phone...and my other co-worker ..this is a scam scam scam!
- tRICK T.G. replies to StephanieI too got a call, these folks sure won't quit. There are 2 possible ways they do call you. Skype is one way, the other is thru a local phone service that services the AMBER, NY. area. Will try to contact a local police dept. The reverse search says at what location the numbers address is located at. Don't goto Wal*Mart or to a CVS or anyplace to wire them the $249 that they say will also be refunded to you. SCAM all the way... I didn't fall for this and hope no one else does.
- Andy replies to StephanieSame story here too... A guy with American accent said I too was selected to receive Federal govt grant for $9200 and he provided me grant id and #(315-636-0795) to call for confirmation. As I was on phone with this guy I goggled this# and told him this is a scam. He immediately hung on me.
- anonymous replies to DeepakThank you so much for this information. I just got the exact same call. I knew it was to good to be true.
- Adriana Dopico| 1 replySomebody call at my phone number and tell me that I win money from the government . This person keep calling me everyday
- 82ndarborne!! replies to Adriana DopicoHad the same issue and I did report it to the actual treasury and grant department and the gentleman is tracking them posing as me. He made the transaction and is tracking the money. These people should burn in hell.
- RPBamaGot the same call. Blocked number. Woman with a heavy Indian accent tells me I've qualified for a $9,200 grant from the United States Federal Grant Department for being a good citizen, paying my taxes on time, and not filing for bankruptcy in the last six months. I told her I didn't believe her and asked for a number where I could call her back. She told me to call her supervisor at (315) 636-0795 and give him my confirmation number. I went online to the Federal Trade Commission reporting site for "Government Grant Scams" at http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0113-government-grant-scams. Apparently this must happen a lot if the FTC has a special web page for reporting it. I submitted my information, along with the phone number they told me to call and the details. Hopefully they will be caught soon.
- Caller: United States Federal Grant Department (fake)
- me me me replies to Deepak| 2 repliesI just got same call... I've been calling them back over and over talking to different ones... Let's ALL call them back maybe they will stop the scam... Time to make a phone call....lol... have a wonderful day people...
- SueGot the same call from a blocked number (accent so heavy could barely make out what he was saying.) Figured it was a scam, but was curious, so called the 315-636-0795, blocking my # by prefacing it with *67, just in case. Called twice getting busy signal each time, so now looked up the # to try to find out what it was. No surprise that it was a scam, but not concerned since they have no info on me. Just hope everyone else is just as cautious.

- MikeSame thing happened to me. I was struggling for money since i have to be off work for my tonsels and i fell for it. I should have caught on but so much was going on at the time. I lost a lot of money almost $1300. My biggest concern is since i was in the line for 3hrs with them i dont know if they have bugged my phone or something. If anyone can help out with that i would gladly appriciete it. Btw the called me bak after the weeknd saying that their account specialist manger jordan white wanted me to call him back i never did so they havent called me back.
I filed a report with the P.D. and with Money gram. Had to cancel 3 cards cause i dont trust them and reported fraud on 3 banks. I was so stupid and i will not fall for this again.
I reed this article to late smh.- Caller: Government Grant
- skye replies to DeepakLol this just happened to me except they toldme to go to Wal-Mart to receive the money Gramm but something about making a 200 dollar security deposit and I said you never said this call will be recorded or monitored and paying money to get money is a scam duh. Then the guy proceeded to say ma'am you're breaking up I'm sorry. I just said yeah I know I am and hung up .
- Joe R.First of all I don't see the Government wanting to use Walmart to transfer money, they would want to send it to the a bank by routing number, or at least mail it. Two, Whitepages reverse number look up says that the number is a Skype number, in Amber NY. The Us Government using Skype...I don't think so.

- RayJust like many others apparently I received a call from 315-636-0795. first a woman with a heavy indian accent told me I was selected to receive $9200 dollars in Govt grant money because Ive paid my taxes on time and my bills. Red flag there because I don't pay my bills ontime. The man then told me (also heavy accent) I need to go to walmart and mmoney gram them a id verification deposit of $249 and ten minutes later I would get $9000. After searching google for the number I found this. so Im abviously not taking it any further. I love the internet!
- Caller: US treasury Dept
- LNBGot this exact call too and came to read this site while I was on the phone with them, haha. Don't fall for it!
- VCThe same thing... they still trying to take money from people...
- AmandaI have the same basic story as the rest. Unknown caller with Indian accent called with a $9200 grant offer, gave me a confirmation number, and told me to call her manager at 315-636-0795. I Googld that number and found this page. Glad to hear confirmation of a scam; I'm the type to get sucked into stupid crap like that.
