    Yes, this is PHISHING.
Remember folks that the CROOKS are on
here as well saying pure crap to
    confuse people.

Use common sense and think.  If it
    was urgent, these f'ing morons
would at least leave a f'ing message.

And you would easily be able to verify
it by calling the number on your bank
    statement, online customer service chat,
website numbers, or numbers on back
    of your cards.

Not the crap you hear on the phone call,
the crap links you see in questionable
emails, or the numbers posted in scam
    emails.

Come on folks... think and be smart !!!

Uh, and is this BANK OF AMERICA or CHASE?

    It cannot be both.

SCAM PHISHING CROOKED F'ING SCUMS !!!

For once and for all for crying out loud!!!

    THIS IS SCAM, PHISHING ATTEMPT.

Sometimes they refer themselves as CHASE.
    Sometimes BoA.

And they call people who have never had
any accounts with either one of them.

And who the hell asks for your passport ID
    and SS# over suspicious activity?????????

If it was urgent, they'll call you live...
and send you email alert to your online
banking email box, and they will actually
freeze/hold your checkcard so that you cannot
    use it.

THIS NEVER HAPPENS WITH THESE PHONE CALLS !!!!!

So think... deduce... and be smart.

Does it really sound urgent???  Of course not.

Same deal.  Left two voicemails on my Google Voice account.  Funny thing is I don't have a BofA account because I hate them.  Now, for the ones that are saying it's legit, obviously it's the same people trying to scam you.  Don't fall for it if you're smart.  And if you're stupid, at least that's a few out of the gene pool.

    wtf?
I got a call from these people just 10 minutes ago asking for my sister by her name claiming they are from BOA, saying her first full and last and asking for her last 4digits. Apparently the call was b/c her BOA debit card was being used as fraud by someone. It wasn't an actual person talking it was a computer generated person. This [***] is obviously scam. When does BOA call you at NIGHT on a Saturday NIGHT to say the least. You have to know something is up!

    Hope this helps!!!

    Truth
I recieved a call from the number 3157244022 last night. It truly scared me bc I always take good care of my card and information, so it was just really strange and creepy that someone would call like that. I don't understand why nothing has been done about this since there are a number of concerns about this number.

Also, I found out last night from a friend of mine that there is an application on the iphone that one could use to do this sort of thing. Why the hell would someone create something like this????!!!!

    BofA Customer
I really am a BofA customer and I started receiving calls from this number yesterday. As always I look up the numbers I don't know even when a message is left. After reading this site I called the number on the back of my card. Yes, there was a hold on my card due to multiple purchases from the same place on the same day. So for me this was legitimate call.

If you ever get a call from your bank just hang up and call the Customer Service number on the back of your card and talk to them to find out the truth. It is way too easy for unscrupulous people to fake Caller ID. Always use reliable sources to verify the calls.

This # is on the BofA website under the "contact us" section. It's for lost or stolen cards, or checking and savings information. Still, be careful who you give your social security number to, and don't give anybody your account number if you're not positive who they are!

    the O.G.
In my case this number was a legit B of A fraud detection alert. Yes it is possible to spoof from another number, or maybe a person doesn't change their phone number on their account info. Whoever the alert is for should heed it, otherwise they may find their ATM card frozen. If you withdraw an unusually large amount of cash and attempt to take more cash out, the card becomes frozen, until the bank can verify that the charges are legit, and won't become their loss. It is kid of a hassle to deal with.

This is a scam. The number is an actual BofA number. But you have to be aware that these scammers are able to "mirror" any number they want to show up on your caller ID.

Besides, the number is listed on the back of my debit card as a number to call if you're calling from outside the US. Typically, companies do not place outbound calls from numbers they set up for inbound customer calls.

I called BofA because I also received a text message stating my account was on hold due to suspicious activity. They told me there wasn't anything suspicious and they didn't try to contact me.

Another good rule of thumb--don't give out any information to unsolicited phone calls or e-mails. If you think it's legitimate, hang up and call the bank directly. Likewise, if you receive an odd email, don't reply to it or click on any of the hyperlinks. Open a new browser and manually type in the bank's web address.

Not a scam.  I just talked to BofA on the actual number from their web site.  I just got a new debit card and I input my pin incorrectly which flagged this number to call my phone.  I also received emails and a flag on my online account as well.  Yes I am an actual BofA customer.

My uncle got a call from this number also. We were skeptical about it but it turned out to be legit. He recently bought two airlines tickets which totaled close to $1000. They placed a HOLD on the transaction since it was flagged as suspicious activity. BoA called him to verify if the transaction was legit. It was a computer generated call asking for the last 4 digits of his social security. Told him the exact amount of transaction and asked if he accepted the charges. He knew about the exact amount of the charges and I did also. Why I knew? I was the one that purchase the tickets for him. If you have a Visa, some websites have the Verified by Visa symbol for an extra layer of protection while shopping through them. This feature has to be activated through the Visa website at http://www.visa.com/verifiedbyvisa/ Some representatives give you the wrong information because I've been giving wrong information before.

There's a lot of mixed opinions on here whether this is a SCAM or not. As you may see here, there's a lot of people claiming it is in a fact a legit number and some say it isn't a legit number. Best thing I can tell you is, if you get a call asking for your entire social security number, account numbers, PINs, passwords, etc. then don't give them anything and just hang up. A legit company will not call you for that type of information since they already have it on file. If you initiate the call, then you already know who you're calling and you make the call then.

but what a nice dork you are to make another effort to come here and tell us it is legit! one like you is hard to be found nowdays.

keep working hard. i hope you get a nip of penny at least out of this [***] business.

This # is legit.  I received a voicemail from the 315 number after having been on vacation in California.  Before calling this number back, I called the BoA Customer Service # to confirm with them that the voicemail I received was legit.  They confirmed that it was and transferred me to the Fraud Department.

Now, any one of you could have done this and figured it out instead of name calling.  I called Bank of America at 800.432.1000 and they verified 315.724.4022.  Common sense.  Wow.  whoever said that the # is not legit is not intelligent.

I received a voice mail from this number, which I was immediately skeptical of, so I contacted bank of america directly via online chat.  While chatting with a rep, I received an e-mail from BOA saying I had suspicious activity and I should contact customer service.

I told the rep all of this and she replied that my account was fine, and had no holds of any kind.  She asked me to forward the e-mail to their abuse department (abuse@bankofamerica.com).

I very clearly asked her if she believed the e-mail to be fraudulent, and she said yes.  She felt the call was too, because my account showed no problems.

So, either the whole thing is a scam, or the rep I chatted with did not have up to date account info.  Either way it is disconcerting.  These people who pull these scams really are scum.

This is why I never respond to the initial call.  I go direct to BOA customer service.

support to REally? replies to REALLY?
we don't need an IQ of 170 to know that giving the SS# is delicate...thieves and hackers can do wonderful things with that little info. It's common sense to be afraid of giving that information to strangers on the phone. I just had to cancel my card for getting all those calls from 623 239 4511
    551 322 9000
    315 724 4022
Everything started after doing the 14D trial of ACAI-BERRY. THe name of company that appear in my card is "Vibrant Beauty" I didn't even dare to call back...I read all the posts about these numbers and other websites where people had paid hundreds of dollars after the trial.

I wouldn't give my number to any stranger on the phone, and plus..they can confirm identity and make transactions afterwards. They can put it in professional databases to find matching SS#..etc...they know better...we need to be cautious.
