I received a couple of calls from this number, saying that I should expect a new Band of America Card in the mail, and I should follow the instructions when I receive the card.  It also said to call the number on the back of the card in case of any issues.  This sounds very convincing.  I have not received any such card - yet.
I called Bank of America and asked if there were any issues with my debit card.  They show no problems with my card, and have not issued me a new card.
    I have blocked the number.
If an actual card shows up, that will be a whole new level of scam I have not seen before.

315.724.4022 number is not BofA. I called  BofA fraud department through their customer service 800 number. The rep I spoke to said it was not BofA trying to contact me and was a scammer trying to obtain my information. Again I called BofA directly and the 315 number was not legit. Yes it is posted on the back of my debit card, but the call I received did not come from BofA.The rep stated it used to be a BofA number though.

It's not always a scam.  BoA will call, email and / or text if it's a legit call with unusual activity on your card.  I've had this happen several times and each time, it was accurate.  It's possible there may be a scam out there doing the same thing, but if you are a true BoA customer and log in to your online banking, there is an 877 number for you to call and verify the charges.  I do agree, though.  Never give info to anyone who calls and offer to call them back going through your local institution or a number you know is real and you trust.

Not a scam. It's the number on the back of your Bank of America debit/credit card to call fraud monitoring if you're out of the country. If you call it, you go into a standard Bank of America caller menu. Just to be on the safe side (i.e., someone spoofing the number) unless you are actually out of the country, I would call back their standard fraud monitoring number, which is 877-833-5617.

It is a legit number, if you listen to the voice mail that they leave you will hear that it is Bank of America. They are verifying that you received your new card they issued after a possible fraud compromise and reminding you to activate it as soon as possible as your old card is being de-activated.

This number is a bank of America fraud protection number  for International transactions.  To validate the number log on to bank of America go to the "Help and Support" tab...click on security and fraud.  You will see the number listed under the Call Us listing.  Even though it is Bank of America it is an International Helpdesk.

The call was from BofA. They left a VM suspecting fraud and that my card had temporarily been locked down. I also received a text, an email, and when I logged on to online banking it had the same alert. So I would suggest that the number is legit. It is also on the back of my card for dialing outside the US, because the 800 numbers won't work outside the US (I believe)

They told me they were from Bank of America.  My ATM card was being  deactivated  and they were sending  me  a new one. In the message  they said  if I had any questions  to call the number  on the back of my debt card, I did and the bank had no knowledge  of this transaction  taking place!

315-724-4022 claiming to be Bank of America is a SCAM.  They left a message on my business voicemail saying my debit card had been compromised.  I checked my account online for unusual activity and called the phone number on the back of my debit card and Bank of America confirmed it is a scam probably trying to get personal information.

There are programs to make it look like they're calling from a legitimate number but they're actually calling from somewhere else.  NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION unless you're sure you're talking to the legitimate organization - you should place the call to your bank yourself to double check.

I received both a call and an email today. I did not respond to either but went to my branch and asked the folks I see at least twice a month and they said the call was bonafide. Also, I did received a new Debit Card in the mail just as the messages stated. I can't 100% declare that none of the calls received by some out there are not clones but I can say that the one I received was triggered by the fact that my health insurance carrier (Anthem- Blue Cross/Blue Shield) has had some of it's databases compromised and the reports of this theft has been given to financial institutions and credit agencies. I am appreciative of the call.

My husband picked up the phone and was listening to the recorded message.  I told him to just hang up or better yet don't pick up when caller id shows a bank we do not use.  I called the number and got a recording that said "this is an operator with an overseas collect call".  I hung up immediately.  I know from the caller ID it was not our bank and probably a sales call.  I  ignore these kinds of calls, but my husband was curious.  If I could block these types of numbers I would, but Verizon only blocks local calls.  be careful everyone.

I got a call from this # and came here to look up the #. Based on the info I called the bank. This is a BOA phone number but this is the phone number your would call collect if you were out side the USA. The representative said that what the scammers are doing is called fishing and they are able to copy #s and they are able to get any # to show on your caller ID. She said if someone calls you from this # do not give them any personal info. Call the 1800 number on your card instead.
