Well some jerks are there cause they deserve to be there or shot! Men are beating the crap out of their wives and getting a slap on the wrist and out to do it again. Some messing with children who should be beaten and hung by their privates. Some peddling drugs and trying to pull one over on folks. Others so stupid they think their smarter than the cops. Our jails are full of low lifes so I could care less how you take this. No one goes to jail for something they didn't do. Sorry Charlie I wasn't born yesterday! This ain't my first rodeo either. People who are in jail did the crime and those who know them try to cover up for them by lying! I know the game they play way to well. Oh poor lil me I got framed I didn't do it i swear! Yeah right and I am the queen of England! Dead beats, low lifes, women abuser, child molesters, etc that's all that goes to jail not the innocent! So tell someone else this sorry excuse cause hun  that don't work for me. I saw first hand what criminals can do. They sit their sorry ass in jail. Read the law books and come out learning how to screw the system.  Then they go back get food, room, etc off the tax payers money when they should have no special treatment. They have dental care, hospitalization, more than the needy do out of jail! Living high in jail instead of paying for their crimes, their being treated like royalty!! Lazy bums getting a free ride.then when they get out go on food stamps for yrs without working a day of their sorry useless lives!! Then when they can't survive on the outside they end up back in jail living it up. Their drug heads, drug dealers, baby killers, spouse abusers,child abusers,robbers, just pan dam stupid's!

i dont know what jail you visited but the one that is in our town and uses this phone system is not a free ride.  They give you a towel, bar of soap, toothbrush,, toothpaste, a roll of toilet paper and a jump suit when you go in. You can not have relatives bring you anything!!  you have to have money put on your account in order to purchase things like underwear, tampex, etc.  you can not call your kids unless you use this phone system which charges you $15 per phone call!!  you cant have family visit unless they send you a post card asking for a visit then they have to pay the high price phone charges for you to call and set up a visit.  The visits are over a computer screen.  they feed you breakfast at 4;30 AM  Lunch at 11:30 am and dinner at 4:30pm.   you cant even get pictures of your kids because you cant get any mail but postcards!!  This is a local jail!!  and people go to jail all the time for little things like failure to appear in court because they got a ticket for no insurance and forgot about the date.   You try living in a cell for a few weeks with no contact with the outside world for a minor infraction!!!  That free ride crap you was spouting is a bunch of crap!!  It isn't as easy as you make it out to be so stop talking about what you have not personal knowledge of!!!

The area code showing 318 for Louisiana does NOT mean the call is coming from there. They are a service for multiple jails across the country. (ie: Roane and Rutherford county jails both use this. Prisoners sign up and pay a monthly service to make calls thru them. If you receive this call and do not know anyone in jail (again could be from 36 different states), then block it. The prisoner could have the wrong number or also attempting to solicit money from you by random phone dialing. This is highly unlikely given that the prisoner makes a monthly payment by minutes used for their service. Mine ended up being a person trying to reach the one who has my number before me. I received several collection calls for that same person. The best, easiest and cheapest method since contacting Tele Coin to ask to be blocked will do you no good is to download app on your phone to block calls unless you have built in blocking functions.

Someone has called from this number that says City Telecoin.  The person does not state their name.  When I said hello there was no answer.  Silence.  I hung up.  This is a scam.  They are hoping I will say someones name, and then they will say, "yes, it is me", and then ask for money.

Third party phone outfit.  I know an innate on Putnam County Jail TN, not in Louisiana.  I wouldn't answer a jail collect call ever.could be $50/minute.
