It should go without saying that USPS Certified is critical, and that the court threat is not idle.

They call several times a day with a message for someone I do not know.  No one here by that name!  On one occasion, I even tried to speak with someone but was put on hold with loud music so I just hung up AGAIN.  STOP CALLING HERE!  Better yet, get a real job.

I'm sure you would. You are the one who must make that happen by contacting CBE, the source of your calls.

No one can use those tools while their hands are bound by apathy and ignorance.

Even "an honest business" is often afraid to record messages regarding debt. Collection agencies are easily sued when the wrong person hears them. The practice of making call recipients authenticate is not spelled out in the FDCPA, but it's become common since a famous decision 7.5 years ago in Foti v. NCO, which essentially penalized NCO for trying to have mandated privacy and disclosure both ways.

I'd agree with BigA that ambush and secrecy favors the collection agent, who like a sales rep prefers that you lack time to compose a response. I don't agree that you're owed any dunning letter unless you are the hunted person. Many complaints here speak of sloppy skip tracing, which may as easily be the call purpose.

If your phone has calling groups, store the number in contacts but set the name to IGNORE-ME.
When you see this as the caller-id; do as it says - - Ignore the call.  When your voice mail prompt is played, the robo just close the call and you don't even get a VM stored :)

CBE calls me all times of the day. Sick and tired of it.

Gettig calls all the time

calls at all hours,4-5 times a day,and then if I pick up the phone I am asked to hold for the "next available rep."
I don't have any outstanding debts so there is no reason for them to call !

These calls just started two days ago and I have been called twice already today and it is not even noon.    Stop calling.

Call blocker might be of some help.  Also don't pick up on numbers you do not recognize, or where there are caller IDs that seem odd.  Or where there is no caller ID.

I have received numerous calls from the number wanting to speak with a person we don't even know.  I have requested they remove our number from this persons account as they have never lived here nor we know who they are.  Received a call again today and told them if I receive any more calls from them, I will be going to a higher level to get it to stop.

Find someone new to call I will be having my number CHANGED!!! So just keep calling bother SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
